Any JR guys using this?
Hello All,
Was wondering if anyone had any experience with using a JM912 FAAST http://www.hobbico.com/radioaccys/hcal1200.html or Weatronic system http://www.weatronic.com/ on their JR radio? Please provide your input. Thanks, Rick |
RE: Any JR guys using this?
Rick there's a lot of people using it on JR, go to the weatronic section in radios.
Im using weatronic on my Graupner MX22 and JR3010 |
RE: Any JR guys using this?
Rick,
I've been using a FASST module in my JR/Graupner MX22 for about a year in jets and electric models without any problems. I made the move so that I could get a 12 channel system for an outlay of about $150 and retain the Tx that I was used to, rather than spend a fortune on a new 12 or 14 channel Tx. Roger |

Hi,
I have been using weatronic with my 10x since a year and am very very happy .Do a search there are a number of useful treads. But one thing is for sure nothing beets weatronic...it's the best upgrade you can get for your radio.. Best Regards Eray Savci |
RE: Any JR guys using this?
I'm about to switch to a new module for my 10X, not yet decided between the 2 above and the jeti system.
Roger do you get all 12 proportionnal channels with the hobbico module? I thought that by emitting in ppm mode would reduce the channel count to 9? thanks Florent |
RE: Any JR guys using this?
By the way , with a Weatronic you merely need more than 7-8 channels. You absolutely do not need 12..

RE: Any JR guys using this?
Florent,
The Mx22 transmits 12 channels in ppm mode so you get all 12 channels, although I'm not 100% sure if they are all proportional as I have used some as switched channels, eg. retracts, but I believe they are. I think that the 10X will only transmit 9 channels in ppm mode, so your choice of system is up to you. Roger |
RE: Any JR guys using this?
Hi
A friend & myself have been using the Hobbico module in our JR 10 X for over a year now with the Futaba 14 channel receiver. Between the 2 of us we have logged over 300 flights with out a problem. Have it in 2 Elansa Boomerang XL Super Bandit, Bobcat, Euro,F-86, Reaction X and probley a few more that I can't remember . Not one glitch. Dave |
RE: Any JR guys using this?
Do you know if this module can be used in a JR12X for either system?
Thanks, Rick |
RE: Any JR guys using this?
Question? If i get one of these modules, are you able to buddy box JR and Futaba, I'm going to assume no, but you never know .. I havent looked yet to see if they have similar ports for "buddying" or if a special cable exists you can link both radios.
Thanks, C |
RE: Any JR guys using this?
I have used two of the weatronic systems. I currently am running (in my A10) my 12-22 2.4 gyro III/gps with my JR 10X and weatronic module - no problems, great system.

RE: Any JR guys using this?
So that means inferior radios can use Futaba FASST technology ?

ORIGINAL: powerjets So that means inferior radios can use Futaba FASST technology ? Yep, I made the switch also |

RE: Any JR guys using this?
I tried my FASST/JR XP9303 module today for the first time in a Jet (brand new C-ARF Flash/JC Super Eagle) I worked perfectly with no issues, I had tried it before on small electrics, but not on a Jet. I was able to get low power range checks at over 300ft with no failsafes (tried it more than once just to be sure) the good thing about the FASST module is that it will also work on the 12X using all 12 channels. I must confess I was scared about using it in a jet, but it worked flawlessly.
My plan is to eventually use a Weatronics 2.4 module for my jets, mostly because of the bells & wistles, not the RF link(when you think about how much it will cost to have an Eagletree Pro telemetry system vs Weatronics having it all integrated, it makes a lot of sense to go with Wea). The FASST system I will use for everything else, yet, seems the FASST module will work just as good for jets. |

The Hobbico does not mention the 12X. Thanks, Rick |
RE: Any JR guys using this?
I'm using it on an MX22 with the 14ch HS receiver and getting solid results. All 12 channels are proportional.
I didn't want to swith to the 14MZ since I really like the MX22's programing flexibility. |
RE: Any JR guys using this?
Rick;
I understand that the 12X is not mentioned on the manual because the module based version transmitter was not in the market at the time... |
RE: Any JR guys using this?
Not sure if it works in the 12x because it takes a different module than all the other JR radios. Also, I noticed on my 12x that if you transmit in PPM (required for the futaba module) you only get 8 channels. 10 channels are available in pcm and of course, all 12 in JR 2.4

RE: Any JR guys using this?
You may be right about the module, the info I had is for the Graupner MX22, not the 12X, while basically very similar radios, they may have differences on the modules.

RE: Any JR guys using this?
Yes,I'm using it on my PCM 10X with Futaba receiver....No problem!!
