Going from memory- approx 1.5 inches forward of the center of the gear. I remeber the manual had you measure down the leading edge of each wing and connect the two points. I think it was 6 inches.
I would start about 1.75 inches forward of the gear and work it back from there.

135mm back from the Fin/wing front point. Can go 140mm but not much more

This is down the wing root/fin line

Sure would be cool if someone would re-kit these and Kangaroos with today's prefab/ installed gear, etc.

Yes, many people.. this plane is very durable as it is simple, doesnīt have a enclosed engine installation or thrust tube, or parts prone to flutter away. You can keep up with any modern sport planes being flown today or even fly circles around them if your hotspot is really "hot" .:) The downside is that they donīt knife edge as well as the modern sport jobs. But even so, they are practical and super fun to fly. Good luck with yours.

Did you try calling Tad at http://goldenwestmodels.com/gwm/Welcome.html He actually makes his own Hotspots.

If you click on "Model Planes" on the top right of his website you will see a picture of mine which he built from a Leibetrau kit.
