Hi guys,
Something here it very interested I like to share with you guys.
This week I was at MythBuster and loan them my P-60SE for their myth. They need my help as turbine expert role. Really, it nothing. The P-60SE working flawless during the filming. Not much work to do beside do the installation. It fire up everytime. I swear during the filming. My P-60SE need O-ring replacement soon. Just imagine start up and shut down for 8hrs straight. That it more than 50 cycles during the filming. I only refuel the gas tank, kero and put in fresh charge ECU lipo pack. Tori and Grant said. This turbine was so easy to operate. I smile and said to them. It a Jetcat turbine babe.

Can you blow your own sail?

The filming yesterday just a small scale.
Since this a science things.
Here is the question.
Which way you think the skateboard go to move and why?
Feel free give your opinion.
I had the answer and solution. It was suprise what it does. But I'll kept my mouth shut until the show it air.

BTW,
Tori it nut. As soon the end of the day filming. He ask me if O.K for him to ride the skateboard with my P-60SE. I told him go break your legs with it.
He sure did. He had so much fun riding the skateboard around the parking lot. It get up close to 25mph riding around the parking lot. I bet if he ride it straight down the runway. He can pick up more speed. I got him hook with turbine power skateboard. Now he is thinking buying bigger turbine for his skateboard.
Hope he not doing it. I can tell he is dangerous with this things. Yesterday he did hurt himself slip on the turn and fall.
The skateboard run off and hit the fence. He got hurt pretty good.

Kari is good looking gal. My son Sean got his charm and Kari all over him. Ofcourse. Most of you guys already meet Sean. He is just so good kid and you got to like him.

Grant is very good tech guy. He does alot of work at MythBuster. Stay in the shop late is normal hours to get the project done.
Most of the show Tori, Kari and Grant doing. Grant it the guy doing most the long hours work at the shop.

I didn't get to meet Adam and Jaime. They was at different location working on different myth. Maybe next time get a change to swing by their shop.

I'd say it'll got backwards. Depression behind the sail generated by the the air being pushed around it by the engine.

Could you post a youtube link to the show when available ?

P.S: Passed a certain age, you'll realize that if you wanna meet nice looking young ladies, you'll have to go out with your son. That hurts men... ;)

It blew me away with the result. This myth really fun and there is sure beyong physic law.

I think it will go both ways, depending on the power setting of the turbine.

BTW,
Beside the P-60SE was use. I also had my back up EDF unit just incase the sail got melt down from hot gas/
But the sail hold together and never need to goes plant B. The MystBuster was impress what I bring and there would love one day come down to the shop and get more information on RC jets stuffs.
Whom know. The future might be our turn for one of the myth.

That´s a cool myth!

I really like mythbusters, they make on very every episode cool stuff to check out :D

So this myth is really a cool one, hope we see a pair more of rc-jet stuff hehe [8D]

Assuming that Isaac Newton's Third law of Motion (For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction) is working on the Mythbusters set, there should be no movement!!

Glad to see you turned the turbine around before he tried to ride the skateboard. That would really have been a hot ride.

I think this picture give it away :D. The camera man is in front the rigg when its running. Airline sometime using reverse thrust to backout from the gates. Can't wait to see the result.

Tam, When will it air?

I believe the skate board will move (forward) in the direction of the turbine's intake and not towards the sail.

The sail is fixed to the board, not the ground.

I guess I'll have to wait and see the show. [8D]

COOL! I don't get to watch a lot of TV, but do enjoy mythbusters ...so can't wait to see this episode!
Which way will it move??? I don't know...there are physical laws that support movement in either direction...which is the more powerful .....we will have to wait and see...... But....I have been in a 727 that backed out of the gate with reverse thrust, so I think the same principle will hold here.........................depending how well that sail works as a thrust reverser....

I've been wrong before :D and I could be wrong now, but I think the sail is too far away from the nozzle to be a thrust reverser.
