DominicM "How long do you get on the standard Futura 2.8L tank with a P160SX? Probably not that long I would guess."

20KG? http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...spinnyeyes.gif

discussed with Ali once, and he told that P-80 is more than enough for 1.9m, flies on 3/4 throttle! So finally got 100RX with a thought that it will rock it, now lets see how it goes http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f.../msn/72_72.gif

Have you maiden with the jetcat rx100?

RE: Futura 1.9m Build

I now have about 40 flights on my Futura with the P100RX and it is an amazing turbine. I fly at 5500 feet above sea level so I loose about 10% thrust. Even at this altitude the light weight P100 has plenty of power for the Futura

I finally got someone to take a video, so you can see what a good engine the P100 is.

RE: Futura 1.9m Build

Hi guys my Futura is about ready to go although strugalling to get the CoG forward to the recomended 10mm aft of the wing tube, comming out at about 20-25mm behind the wing tube with 2 batteries in up the nose, looks like others have flown it with the C0G at 20-30mm.

My question is do you have any recomendations for surface throws Airleron and elevator specificaly before I maiden it?

Paul

RE: Futura 1.9m Build

Hi,
Maidened my Futura last week, throws as indicated in instruction and CG at about 10mm behind. Until now my only flight but no problem.
One remark for starting: with the standard nose gear you may get a long distance to get up in the air and my Futura really needed a lot of HR to get from the ground. Some people advise to make the nose gear higher, so I ordered some conversion parts from IQ Hammer.
Good luck for the maiden.

RE: Futura 1.9m Build

Under 12KG would be nice, once completely finished I will see how the vinyl is effecting the weight.

Terry & Paul,

Thanks for the updates. Require the distance you guys having between the P100 exhaust cone & Bell Mount thrust tube! Would appreciate if we may have few pics for the same.

If anyone is interested I make custom smoke tanks for the small and large Futura.
Below is a photo of the 1.9M version. The tanks fit under the engine rail on each side, In the photo you can see the overflow fittings.
PM me if you are interested.
The first photo shows the large Futura with the Custom Fuel and Smoke tanks. The second photo is the 1.9M.

Hi haisanjafri

I am away for a few days now, I will mesure it when I'm back for you, I believe that there are recomendations in the P100 manual for exhaust possition, from memory mine looks a lot like the secon pic supplied by Bill.
