Question for you Byron flyers...
I have a TopGun F-15 with the Byron fan and the TopGun Super pipe. The smaller return pipe is cut off right next to the side of the engine. I was wondering, for the sake of keeping things clean, would it be wise to add a length of Aerotrend blue tubing to the return pipe so that the exhaust would exit about an inch or so from the impeller?

Less mess...
I can't take credit for this 'cause someone else here passed it on to me, but I extended the outlet with a small piece of silicone tubing coupled to an aluminum tube. Cut a hole in your engine mount former where it's convenient and route the pipe thru it then back into your thrust tube with another hole. Get's all the oil past the fan with little or no loss in power.

OR, on my Bullet, the pipe is actually bent so it exits out the bottom of the fuse, may not work on yours, I dont know, but keeps the inside clean!

drywaller:
I added a piece of Aerotrend exhaust tubing as you suggest, it ends about a half inch from the face of the fan, keeps things fairly clean. I used a small metal hose clamp to secure it, rough up the aluminum tubing and the inside of the Aerotrend tubing with sand paper. I did this after reading about it in the jet list archives. |

I like the idea of havig the exhaust exiting the bottom of the fuse. It looks like it would work but it does not look as easy to do as the extension tube. Thanks for the tips.

Thanks John. If it turns out to be easy I might do it that way.

Question for you Byron flyers...
Im not sure how yours is set up, but mine just has a bend far enough back to where the tube will just exit the bottom of the fuse, on mine there is a large hatch where the engine is anyway, so it has a hole for the exhaust to come out, I will hopefully get pics monday for ya!
