Solid Tyres

Hi,
A friend of mine bought a sat of retracts for his Roo. The tyres that came with the set were solid and to me they seem to the be the heaviest component of the whole set.
Even the retract set (excluding the tyres) seem to be marginally on the heavy side too, altough not much.

Although I can see a lot of benefits in having solid tyres can anybody let me know from were can one get a set of solid tyres that are reasonably light?

Thanks.

Reuben

Hi Reuben,
The weight you might save with a lighter solid tire of acceptable quality will not be more than %0.5 of the total weight of your plane...So unless you don't have other problems with your tires I would recomend to stay with them..

www.greatnorthernmodels.com get their wheels or www.bvmjets.com both have excellent quality tires. I have used both manufactures on Kangaroos and had excellent results.

I do not know what wheels you have, but here is a manufacturer of tires and wheels that I have had great success with:

Great posting!
I've been looking for solid tires for a month now and still can't find them ! I have a 1 5/8 wheel (eurokit wheels) and the tires are 2 7/8, but 3 inch will work, any suggestions? Thanks Kevin
