Aeropoxy

Aeropoxy is some wicked good stuff,it will bond to anything.Just always make your scuff polyester a lil' more than epoxy glass as it tends to have more mold residue on it.I have also found fiberpoxy to be great on all glass forms for small needs

If you are gluing to the inside of the fuse, there is no "mold residue". Actually, the only thing that would be on the outside of the fuse is possibly mold release PVA or mold release wax. Either is dependent on the person who actually did the layup and not related to the resin used in the layup.

The reason polyester can be more difficult to get a good bond with is due to the fact that polyester floats a type of wax to the surface in contact with the air. This wax must be removed before a good bond can be made after the resin has cured. But, it has nothing to due with the mold, or any residue left behind from the layup process. This wax is present even when you glass the wings prior to finishing is you use polyester as your resin of choice. It should also be noted that not all polyesters are the same in this regard. Some are better while some are much worse in the amount of wax which is left on the air contact (inside) surface.

polyester and aeropoxy?

The answer is hell yeah! These guys are right, just clean and scuff it a little more. Try breaking it apart, and you'll break the glass first!

RE: Re: Aeropoxy

Is Aeropxy ES6279 same as BVM aeropoxy?

RE: Re: Aeropoxy

BVM Aeropoxy is definately not the same as ES6279. PTM&E ES6279 from Aircraft Spruce is very different. They also make a line of laminating epoxy resins and hardeners.
