RE: P20 .................. SX
ORIGINAL: carl.huxford125 Think i'll wait, i have a knack at buying things at the wrong time, got my kolibri t32 a week before the p20 was released. I was going to wait untill the GBRjets stinger is released anyway |
RE: P20 .................. SX
This happened to me with the P80, I asked the question of my supplier if there was any chance the P80 would be upgraded as the SE versions where coming out at the time, I was told there was no plans to upgrade the P80 and guess what happened a month later, this seems to be a JetCat policy.

RE: P20 .................. SX
Slick if that was the case, then there would never be a good time to release new products without stopping to sell the old range and leaving a gap before bringing out a new. It's ridiculous to say that it's bad of JC to do what they have done, after all they are just trying to improve the products they make for us. Yes i can see it may be frustrating if you have just bought something a few weeks before a new product is announced, but it could of happened at any time, so there would always be a customer somewhere who would feel hard done by.
Mike's issue may be slightly different as you actually asked the question, but then again there is no guarantee that your dealer actually knew about the P80se when you asked . |

Duncan
I can see everyone's point of view, and the fact that progress is not only necessary, but inevitable that still does not stop me from feeling a little peeved that a product has been updated less than a year after its first availability, but I will wait and see exactly what the upgrade is before jumping up and down any more. RE: P20 .................. SX
I sent an email to Bob Wilcox and he doesnt know of any changes to the P-20 so i guess if it is true then it has been a closely guarded secret.

RE: P20 .................. SX
But then this could just be a wind up by Bigplums who has been know to do this before. :D if it is you certainly got me Dennis. ;)

RE: P20 .................. SX
All fair points but it doesn't change the simple fact that Jetcat were happy to sell me a turbine, at full cost, knowing that it would be out of date in a few weeks. I'm not saying they shouldn't still be selling P20SE's, but they should be straight with their customers and give them the option. Mine is so new I considered returning it under the distance selling regulations but, having looked into it, I am just outside the timeframe for me to do so.[&o]

RE: P20 .................. SX
The trouble is the SX is all supposition at the moment it has not been announced by JetCat, knowing the rumour machine as it exists the SX possibly will not be out for another year. :D

RE: P20 .................. SX
What I want to know is when are the FOD screens coming out? Internal Kero start is nice but I can live with the propane.

siclick33 new phones, computers, servos, batteries, tv's and so on come out all the time. Do you get made when you just bought that new blackberry only to find out that they just released a new model?
With those guys working on new stuff all time lets us have the best there is out there. Who knows maybe they are working on a P-10 right now also........ |

Who knows maybe they are working on a P-10 right now also........ That analogy does not hold water, electronics move on with the development of better micro circuits, what we are talking about here is something that is available in a range already available within the manufacturers workshop, but not introduced with the first batch of a new product, IMO they waited until the temperature of the water was tested and they could assess the demand before introducing what was already available on other models, shame they make the best product on the market or I may be tempted to go elsewhere for my next turbine. Guarantee that those that are criticising siclick33 and myself for complaining are not those that have spent £2000.00 on an outdated piece of equipment. Mike |

Mike
I ordered a out dated p-20 SE today. I couldn't give a toss about inbuilt kero, all I want is an engine to nail in this snotty Habu so I can go and ingest half the Nevada desert in it at Sin City jets in November. Then when I get home I'll send it back to my retailer for a 'warranty repair' and hope for a free down grade to a SX with internal non user serviceable internal kero burner thingy. I'll then sell it N.I.B because by that time there may be an engine out of the same size with more thrust than one of Julians farts he produced last night... Jason |

RE: P20 .................. SX
As I said I ordered my Second P20 SE Yesturday. I will now have 2 turbines and 3 install kits so I can easily swap it around the 3 or 4 airframes I have. Internal Kero is ok but as Jason said what happens when it goes wrong............ Off to Jetcat. I will just replace a £4 glow plug.
Regards Dennis |

Often a manufacturer will include the following statement or something similar in their owners manual:
The manufacturer reserve the right to change, improve, modify or expand features of it's equipment at any time. Specifications, models or equipment are subject to change without notice, and without incurring any obligations to change, improve, modify or expand features of previously delivered equipment. But it would still probably smart if it were me [:o] Rob. |
