Air cylinders

I'm looking to replace the door cylinders in my L-39 and I'm not sure what replacement cylinders will work best. The stock units have been leaking since day one and now I'm ready to swap them out.

They are the thin cylinders. Approximatley .280 bore with a stroke of 1".

Any suggestions would be great....

Thanks.....

Thanks Jetsflying.

Checked out the link. I see the air nipple is at the very bottom and pointed straight out. Not sure I have the room to put the air line on and for it to move freely.

May have to do some revamping.

RE: Air cylinders

I recently had a problem with my cylinders on my SM L-39. They leaked and when I tried to pull the airlines off to replace them, two nipples came off one main cylinder. As replacements, I tried the Air Power 1 1/2 stroke 3/16 dia and they were not powerful enough to keep the doors closed. The UP 1 1/2 stroke 7/16 dia is what I ended up ordering from Dreamworks. The flight loads are what you have to watch out for.

i use robart whenever i can, they make 3/8" by 1/2 in, 1in, 2,5/8 in. they have o lot of power, 11 lbs i think at 100 psi. they rarely leak (unless your 'friend' pulls up the gear switch in the pits!) you can easily get an 'o' ring and service set and you'll get them from tower hobbies quick. they get to the other side of the world in 5 days. and they are made in america (or are they?)

Just remember, the larger the diameter, the stronger the cylinder at any given pressure.

I wasn't aware that Dreamworks handles air cylinders. Just placed an order with them.

Thanks for the heads up..
