Composite Arf paints.

Does anyone know if the paints that Composite Arf supply for touch up, are PPG Concept paint?

Thanks
Alan

Hi Alan,
What colors do you need? You can't buy PPG Concept in Canada any more, the solvent base paints are no longer legal. I'm sure I could have Kevin bring one of his tutor parts over (I'm assuming you need the paint for the tutor) and match the color in the PPG Omni system. Omni is still solvent based, but it's VOC compliant. Otherwise you have to use the new water borne paints and they are a pain in the butt (and very expensive). I have a complete Omni system, so even though a paint store will be unlikely to do a custom match in omni for you, I can do it if you need.

Hi Jeremy,

I have some Comp-Arf Paint for touch up also. If I use it in my Air Brush and want to thin the paint down for spraying, What type of thinner would I use that is compatible with Comp-Arf's Paint?

I would be doing small areas. I also would like to spray the plastic cockpit they supply with color.

Thanks

Stan

It's definitely not PPG Concept. Not really sure what it is but, it seems to be a 2 part urethane, at least I was able to reduce it with a urethane reducer but, it doesn't adhere like an auto paint. I found that when I tried to buff it to match the shine, it was easily pulled from the surface or would "crinkle". I understand that it's the same paint that they use "in the mold" and it's really not intended as an external paint.

Anyway, it's not bad for doing very small touch ups but, for larger areas or where blending is required, you'll be happier with an auto urethane.

Hi Jeremy
I have there paints and hardener, but they don't send any reducer with it. So this is is why I am wondering if this is PPG Concept, then I could use DT 870 with it.

So that means I don't have to make a special delivery at Princeton?
