Do you bother to ballance your 2 cell ECU Lipo when you charge it</p>

At the field, no..
At home with my super duper balancing charger - yes ....Although I have never seen more than a .01 Volt difference between the cells even if they were not balanced...

Every few charges... I plug in a blinky. I don't like the balance charge on most chargers.

Cycle. I dont think you should cycle them. They should never drop below 3 volts per cell

If you want them to last a very long time...They should never drop below 3.8 per cell. 3.1 is the absolute bare min.

As far as the poll, I voted sometimes.
At the field it depends on which charger I have with me. If I also brought electric powered aircraft to the field then I will have my big fancy charger with me, my small charger that lives in my jet flight box does not have balance capability.
At home I always balance charge.
I still have some good LiPos that are so old, they do not have balance plugs on them.

I cycle all LiPos when new and write the capacity on the pack for future reference.
I cycle all of my LiPos regardless of size or cell count at the beginning of each flying season just to measure the capacity to see if they need replacing or not. I replace them when the capacity drops to 90% of new.
If I have anything that may be a power issue, cycling is the very first test to be sure that the source of power is good.

Sooooooo.......... I guess that I do cycle my LiPos.
My balance charger has a LiPo discharge function that can monitor the voltage of each individual cell and it ends the discharge cycle when the first cell drops under 3.2V

What has not been addressed is Kero start on LiPo, if your two cell LiPo has a high discharge rate the likelyhood of the cells getting out of ballance is increased and therefore ballancing becomes more of an issue, hence the increasing use of LiFe in jets.

Thats something new for me, I'd assumed because there was more than a single cell present, a Balance charge was always needed, everyday is a school day :) Ive always balanced charge all LiPo batteries, not had any problems so far, although I do only use them for Rx / ECU Power in my Jets and Helicopters.
