RE: Hobbyking in the UK
Not sure I understand the business model now.
When based in HK they send out goods sourced cheaply no vat and packaged by low paid staff. The HK operation is nicely sited so customer care can be non existent . The recipients often do not pay import duties. They have few competitors. Based in the UK they will employ local staff at UK rates, have to pay correct import duties and charge 20% vat. They must be more expensive than imports direct from China. They will face the stiff competition from direct imports that the UK model shops have faced. Also they will face UK regulations for goods warrantees and Fair Trading laws. I fear that they may go the same way as the local hobby shops that have closed. John |

A very good point John!

Customers will still of course have the choice to buy from the International warehouse in China and wait the long period for delivery or can pay a bit more and have quicker delivery. I am sure Hobby king will survive. I have fears however for Giant Cod as they basically sell much of the hobby king stuff
|

RE: Hobbyking in the UK
£6.08 per hour if you are over 21. If you are a banker about £4000 per hour plus bonus. We are all in this together
|
RE: Hobbyking in the UK
Also don't forget the minimum holiday entitlement of 5.6 weeks a year and maximum number of working hours per week, maternity paid leave, or paternity leave allowance etc etc.

ORIGINAL: Bertiebones ORIGINAL: 3dean and we always have a poets day on friday I wanted some Lipos, looked at HK, out of stock, looked at the cost of getting them from their Euro depot, too expensive for delivery etc. so in the end I got them from G.Cod, paid a bit more for the Lipo but cheap postage, and they arrived a day later, couldn't be bothered with the agro from HK[>:] |

It will still be cheaper then some of the outrageous stuff at the LHS. |
