London Olympics Model Flying Restrictions
 
I've just stumbled across this and thought it might be worth posting here. I'm sure it's probably in the BMFA publications somewhere but I hadn't seen it.

No model aircraft over 7Kg will be able to be flown within the protected areas as shown in the link during the specified dates. It's quite a big area and I know that it does cover more than one jet club.

We had the same crap here for the winter Olympics in 2010. Pretty soon "they" realized it was all a bunch of crap and lifted the ban.

Same in Athens 2004, no rc planes close to all Olympic installations.

Nothing serious, don't worry. The same way we follow the rules of our hobby, a few times in our life we have to accept some limitations when something big is happening.
