I flu the plane with the cg about 1 1/2 ahead .It seamed to fly fine but on takeoffs it seamed to be hard to get it to rotate.

yeah, it shouldnt be at all, although i take off with full up elevator, but its never hard to rotate.

Kangaroo C.G. should be set at 9.5 - 10 cm (about 4#) front of the alu spar.

The plans call for 95-100 mm in front of the main spar. Both of my Roos balanced at the front screws on the main gear flange. Balance with your header tank full if you are using one and don't plan on getting into it. I had a Roo with a Ram 1000, and now one with a PST J600, and neither needed any weight.

Thanks to every one for the help. When my roo was built the gear must have bean installed farther back.ALso do I balance with gear up? Tim

I put my ecu battery in the rear of the plane and didn't need any extra weight to achieve balance.
It's a big sub-C cell and is heavy.

We balanced our Roo 2 inches forward of plans.. Dennis Lott told us to do that.. fly's great, it does away with the Roo-Hopping on landing.
