Starfire building questions

Hey there all you guys that have built a Yellow Starfire, I need some help.
First, I am in the process of mounting the elevator servos mounts and they fall exactly in line with the mounting bolts for the fan. In other words if I glue the mounts in line with the elevator pushrods to prevent any binding, the bolts for the fan unit will hit the servo arm.. My question is> Do you push the servo mount back futher towards the wing root or do you just cut the bolts flush with the blind nuts, and is that enough to hold the fan?

Second question> For those of you who have put struts on the front wheel, which one did you use that would clear the hole in the fuse and allow the gear door to come up? If it's a Robart, what is the catalog number of it?

Third question> What servo did you use for the rudder? I have a JR radio..
Thanks a lot guys for the info. With a little luck I'll be painting it within a month.......Thanks again Mike

Mike,

There is no particular place you need to mount that elevator plate. If you want to move it forward or aft, it doesn't matter. Just as long as you make sure it's glued to the fan mount and the fuselage. Also, there's no reason you cant relocate the hole that the pushrod goes through--in case you wanted to push the mount in toward the wing shelf.

Robart makes a strut for the Yellow A-4 that has the right amount of trail to it. You can get that from me or Yellow direct.

The JR 9011 is a great servo for the rudder. I've seen the Hitec 255MG used with great success, although I am a JR fan.

I'm back from Germany, so gimme a call...
