Lightest valve setup?
Ihave two hs-81s on two robart 5 port valves for gears and doors. Then st-47 standard servo driving a UP6 brake valve, and finally a gear door sequencer.
All this weighs nearly half a pound with the mounting board, pushrods, clevises etc. Been looking atsome combined and electronic valves but has anyone worked out what is a good light solution for this setup?Looks like a UP3 run by 1 servo and no sequencer is a good bet butnot sure what to get to lighten this up and that would be reliable. Anyone know of a good all in 1 unit that does it all electronically without servos? Thanks! |

Those are sequencers, I do see the UP3 which is promising. For some reason I was thinking there are multifunction units that do it all in 1 unit?

The Jetronics valves are very light. They are electronic and do NOT need a servo. The Jetronics electronic sequencer is also very light and compact. Bob

Could this be used to perform the same function as a UP3?

RE: Lightest valve setup?
I dont know what jet you are working on but comp arf makes a retrac /brake combo valve that would only need one mini servo to run it. You could install a button valve to operate the doors. That would be as light an install as i could think of. Is this for an EDF project?? most turbine installs dont need that much "weight saving " ??

RE: Lightest valve setup?
That is a dual action valve.... You would need two of them and a sequencer in order to perform the same function as the UP3
The UP valves will offer the lightest sequencing system available. If weight is a concern, this would be the product to have..... |
RE: Lightest valve setup?
Its a FEJ f-16 advancded 1/8 with a rabbit. Believe me, it needs weight saving lol. I did find this:
http://www.flyeaglejet.com/en/Electronic.html Is there something out there liek this tha is good quality? I would not trust FEJ. Also, does it end up lighter than the setup with a up3? |
RE: Lightest valve setup?
A few onces of savings is not going to matter on this jet. YOU WANT A SETUP THAT WORKS!!!!! The FEJM all in one valve works well but does have a fair amount of weight to it and it needs some room to mount it. I would go with a UP3 valve and mini servo, Air power elec brake valve (very light) and Tams failsafe, also very lightweight.
