Quick Question

Iam still fairly new to turbines and haven't had the need until now to use an aux. tank for start up and to taxi out until now and was wondering how you guys plumb that aux. tank. Does it just have the one line that plugs into the vent out side the plane? Just curious if someone could send me some pictures or just some good advice for someone still getting his feet wet with jets. The nearest guys that fly jets to me is about 2 hours drive each way so any useful info is gladly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

RE: Quick Question

Jason, the taxi tank runs in series with the last tank in your system. Its feed line connects to the external vent on your jet and the taxi tank has a vent to atmosphere. It is as if you are just adding another tank to the system. Dreamworks sells fittings for a quick disconnect system so you can easily connect your taxi tank to the jet.

Make sense?

RE: Quick Question

Thanks. I was pretty sure of how I thought it might work just wasn't sure about the vent for the taxi tank. That was where I was a bit stumped. What are the fitting called from dreamworks? I'll got there and check it out. Thanks again.

A Taxi tank is surely one piece of kit that any modler should be able to make for nothing out of stuff around ones workshop or indeed house. Come on guys we should not have to buy everything. Make one yourself youe will be pleased you did

RE: Quick Question

If you want to save some money just hook up a dubro 24oz tank to the fuel vent on your plane. make sure you use the gas stopper and not the glow one.

RE: Quick Question

I had a pitot out the nose and hung the tank on it. The pitot was the fuel vent.

RE: Quick Question

Iwas going to use a dubro, but the dream works set up with the quick connects looks very nice and a clean install so I ordered one. My biggest question was more just about the plumbing and venting issues. I just wanted to make sure that the taxi tank needed to be vented and so forth to confirm my set up. Thanks guys. Always great info.
