Analog vs. digital
OK guys. I purchased a BVM T-33 kit from another modeler. He had ALL the JR servos required to fly the jet as recommended by BVM at the time he purchased it....all analog. Should I use them or buy new digital ones. I will be using a Spektrum 12ch power safe RX along with my trusty JR 12X. It will be a big investment to turn around replace them all with digital JRs. Comments?

RE: Analog vs. digital
Hey Tom,
You will be fine if it is all the recommended items from BVM. They were fine in the day and models aren't going any faster. I am confident you will be fine. |
RE: Analog vs. digital
Tom put digis on the ailerons. I believe you will get a more crisp response in roll but as big John states the recommended servos will be fine.

Tom,
I'll put it like this... Do you want to talk to me or Bob Price... :D Danno |
RE: Analog vs. digital
Danno, I actually thought about that when I asked this question. Broke out laughing. You guys coming to Ga Jets?

RE: Analog vs. digital
Its important to understand there are some very good analog servos, and some junk with the word digital slapped on their sticker.

RE: Analog vs. digital
Why would you want to build a new jet like you are living in 1999? If you have a new in box jpx turbine would you use it?
Todays modern digital servos are superior in everyway, case design, holding power, accepting long servo leads without glitching. Building this kit is alot of time and effort, step up to modern servos. |
