RE: Large SM Hawk questions
I just spent a week tracking down an air leak in my Skygate Hawk conversion to T45. Finally found it at a nipple on one main! tons of work!
it was a small leak that was really hard to pinpoint. Scott |

RE: Large SM Hawk questions
Hi Sean,
yes regular and reverse thread. Thanks!! Joe, Thats a Skygate Hawk. Been converted to a T45. I dont think the price is much different between the SM and Comp Arf one. Let us know what you think when you get your Hawk!! Scott |
RE: Large SM Hawk questions
On the ailerons, I leave them in that position all the time. Its very subtle. I should clerify too, they arent raised relative to the actual airfoil, at least at the tips. There seems to be a little inaccuracy in a flap so when the ailerons are aligned with the flap at the TE, they are actually slightly drooped at the tip.
When raised a little (1.5mm) above the flap at the TE, they are neutral when sighted from the tip. Important thing here is sight them from the tip and be sure they arent drooped at all. Wash-in is bad. Yeah, the SM is a BAE Hawk, not really a T-45. The T-45 has lots of differences..... dual nose wheels, single ventral on bottom, speed boards on side, "smurfs" in front of the stab.... But, like a lot of you guys, I like the T-45 schemes.... |
RE: Large SM Hawk questions
Mike you flew the Goshawk really well at JOK so I think you have the setup nailed.
