Temp Sensor tip broke
I bent too much the tip of the temp sensor and it broke. Do I need to
replace it? I see something white inside. My guess is yes? Thanks Hector |
RE: Temp Sensor tip broke
Yes. i would replace it. I would not try to use this broke one.

RE: Temp Sensor tip broke
Yup... unfortunately it will no longer work if the tip is broken. The white stuff is ceramic insulation and it keeps two wires apart until the tip which is called the "hot junction" where they meet. There is also a "cold junction" at the other end which completes the measuring circuit - so in effect the circuit is no longer complete and it will not function at all. Hard to believe there is all that stuff in there and it all knows what to do!

thanks, i wil order one tommorow. are these sensors uniersal? i have an amt, just wondering if i can use any sensor
thanks |
RE: Temp Sensor tip broke
Contact Buck "yeahbaby" or Danno "rcjetsaok" on here - they both are longtimers on the AMT's and can help you source a new one - but yes, in general if it is the K type they all work - you'll just have a few concerns about 1) length and 2) wire terminals.
