Largest Typhoon Model. Is it?
 

Hi there,

There is this buddy rc'er that I know. He likes to scratch build large models and by large I mean very large! He sent me these pictures of a model that he finished and successfully test flew last summer (August 30, 2012) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (the first trial test flight was in March 20, 2012). He said that it is the largest jet powered RC scale model of Typhoon. His name is Ali Alsuhaibani. This model is 5.12m long (about 16' and 10") and weights about 65 kg dry (about 143 lb). It hold about 13 liters of jet fuel and powered by two JetCat engines P200 and P180. Here are some pictures... Enjoy :)

Tell Ali and Family Todd says hello! Havent seen/spoken with him in over a decade (we used to fly together when he lived in Daytona)! Good to see he is still playing ;-)

I think there is couple of videos for the several trials I don't know if there is one for the short successful flight. Though they're all on old video cam that I don't think he can digitize neither can I :)
He promised a video for the next flight and I asked him to take it with his mobile so that I can post it here.

Wow! Would love to take a look at that, I'm in Riyadh at the moment, just transiting back to the UK after spending another month instructing on the full size.

2x Merlin 240's would be the order of the day :D
