BVM Jet Case
 

I am Looking for IDEA'S on Best ways to take a Jet with Me As check Baggage looking at the BV Case but not sure if a wood box is better. Any Ideas???

I have taken Southwest Airlines with my BVM Electra in the Jet case it was very bulky and won't fit on most carts and the guys at South West scratched up the case a lot. Make sure you label it fragile and do not drop. I would suggest that you get to the airport very early because I am certain that security will want to have a look inside. If it is a turbine jet make sure their is no fuel at all in the aircraft and you will probably have to pull the lithium packs out as well. I would do it again but only as a last resort.

I flew to First in Flight Jet rally in May with my BVM Electra in a BVM jet case. I had no issues. I checked it as baggage and the only thing was being asked by a few people just what it was. I would suggest following the BVM instructions for adapting the Electra to the jet case. If you would like I could send you pictures of the Electra packed up inside the case.

I have both a standard and a sabre jet case from BVM. If your jet has a removable fin and is Bandit/Electra size, the regular case is fine. If it doesn't have a removable fin, the Sabre case, with the protrusion for the fin is probably a better choice. The cases are very high quality but also quite heavy. I think checking it in at the airport these day is a bit of a gamble.

Here is a pic of the case for my 80" BVM F-86. I don't have it in my hands yet but it appears to be pretty compact and substantial.

Please I would like to see how hard it is to remove this cover for TSA.
