Very nice paint job Bart.

Has anyone got a copy of the Bob Wilcox instruction mods that were done a couple of years ago, would be nice to see them before I start my new build.

Where can I get a hold of a new Hotspot kit in Australia??
Pete

BaldEagel 01-19-2014 09:22 AM

The Hotspot isn't made anymore, Graupner stooped making the kit about two or three years ago, the nearest you can get is the CARF Rookie II and even that is in limited production.

It is still being kitted.
I picked up a kit at this years Jetpower.

It is sold now by Thorsten Klaus from airtech-jetteam, he took over the original Liebetrau molds. [link=http://www.air-tech.info/html/frame.html]http://www.air-tech.info/html/frame.html[/link]

Hi friends:

I have a fuselage almost ready for paint, them I will bake a new molds, but I not will work again in this project until the summer, now I have too much jobs and I not gave time enought.
I am thinking in make a new more big hatch of canopy, what of you think over this ?
Do you think that would be great more big hatch ?

Thanks in advance for your opinion !
Carlos.

BaldEagel 01-19-2014 02:28 PM

Full length hatch would be great, and while you are at it a removable nose cone too.

Mike

cmjets 01-19-2014 02:37 PM

Yes, this is my idea too, a large hatch with canopy and speedbrake. But, for what need a removable nose ?

BaldEagel 01-19-2014 02:44 PM

So you can get the batteries as far forward as possible if you fit a heavy large thrust turbine.

Carlos, a larger (somewhere 25% thru 50%) Hotspot would be sweet.. then you wouldn´t even need to build a larger access hatch! :)

No need for a bigger canopy. I like mine the way it is.....

I need a canopy. I'm just starting to put together a rough old Hotspot and looking forward to getting it going hoping by summer time. I have 1/2 inch retracts are they to much? 21pound turbine for power. Are canard worth doing? Anyone have pics of gear doors?

Randy M. 02-08-2014 07:19 PM

I have a friend that has a canopy with the tub. Even has a pilot. He will sell. Pm if you want it

cmjets 02-09-2014 12:06 AM

I have the mold of canopy, the last week I receive more plastic, if you want it...

Retracts: probably yes.

21 pound turbine is ok.

Canards: They may help, but the HS has already a huge flight envelope that I think that is better for you to try it before doing any modification.

Gear doors: I used only the nose gear door. Seemed that the main gear doors doesn´t affect speed.
