RE: EXM MINI
Composite models are not better than built up models it is just another form of construction, yes it is easier for those with no skill to get panel lines details etc but there is no reason why any well built and finished built up model can not be the same as a composite one.
Composite is easier/quicker to mass produce and why used, but any well designed built up model is equally or maybe stronger than a composite one. Snag with composite in regard to strength is it is never guaranteed, once done you have no way of knowing if it was actually layed up correctly without breaking it. This is one reason why in the fullsize light/ultralight aircraft world many composite designs fail to meet some countries approval, simply because of the unknown of how it was layed up. Where as in built up, metal, rag & tube etc designs, once the first one meets approval, everyone after that will always be the same and easily examined to check that. |

RE: EXM MINI
Does anyone know what turbine was in the prototype and what the performance was like?
|
RE: EXM MINI
Hello,
I think you can fly the EXM Mini with a 6 up to 8 Kg turbine. I hope it can help. Regards Marcelo |
RE: EXM MINI
Hi my friends.
I agree with Xairflyer. All depends the design and tipe constrution... more than the material that we use. Avtually RAUL LOZANO have more than 50 flights with no problems... Soon a new promotion viedo. About EXM mini... perfect for BEE, P60, WREN 54... Thanks for your suport. João Matos www.joaomatosrc.com |

RE: EXM MINI
|
RE: EXM MINI
Well it's nice to hear that Jetcentral will have some soon but what about those of us on the pre-order list?
I've received no updates and there was no reply to my PM even after adding a further request for a reply on this thread. I have now sent an email as well but I'm not confident about receiving a reply. I'm getting to the point where I might have to take my business elsewhere[&o]. |
RE: EXM MINI
Where are the flight test videos? I'm sure there was a ton of flight test & development before releasing the final product for sale:eek: You preorder guys are brave souls!!!
|
RE: EXM MINI
When I placed my order I thought that there would be a video by now as well[&o]
I'm not entirely reassured by the amount of flight testing that appears to have been done either. When Joao mentioned that 50 flights had been flown by Raul Lozano I thought that was for the Mini, but it wasn't, it was for the Sport which has been around a lot longer. I would be interested to know how many turbine flights the prototype EXM Mini has had, how it performs and how it is holding up. Joao mentioned that his is fitted with a P60 but I have no idea if that is the best thrust class or whether the model would be better, and could cope with, something like a VT80 or P100. I'm still not completely put off yet as it looks like a nice plane for a good price, but it would be nice to know what is going on. Have any of the models been shipped yet? I would love to hear from anyone that has received one. |
RE: EXM MINI
Hi.
As soon as possible i add a nice video promotion. Last week i finish landing gear design, so delay in EXM MINI deliver... Tailpipes and fiberglass tanks in market soon. Sorry for delay. Thakns for your suport. João Matos www.joaomatosrc.com |
RE: EXM MINI
Hi.
This plane was design for 5-6 Kg turbine thrust... P60 , WREN 54... VT 80 is too big for this plane. This weekend i will put some photos of prototype :-) Thanks for your suport. João Matos www.joaomatosrc.com |
