Bobcat engine installation

Today I finally received the P-80 for my Bobcat XL. This thing is beautiful and it smells kerosine!
Now I am trying to figure out how to mount it to the wing. I think I figured out where all the parts from the Jetcat install kit are supposed to go, but now the whole setup does not fit inside the center section cutout. And it's not only the mounting angles, for which you are supposed to make cutouts, but the carbon plates don't fit in there either. The whole thing is about 1/4" wider than needed. What I am thinking is that I should enlarge the oval holes on the top mounting bracket, so they can slide closer to the engine and the carbon plates can be closer to each other. Am I right? It seems there is still enough space between the plates and the engine to move them closer...

I am getting very close! As soon as I have this set up it's on to painting, final setup and FLYING! Thanks again for everybody's help in this process.
Nikita.

Nakita, last week I received my P-120 for my Bob Cat XL and I to was a little confused about the mounting thrust angle. The P-80 & P-120 are the same size so I am sure they will mount the same.
Take a look at the Picture below, and yes I to elongated the mounting holes to allow for the natural diameter of the Jet Cat. The motor fits just right and notice the motor is flush fit with the top side of the wing giving it a lot of down thrust which is the way BV wants it to be!

I have a P80 in mine. Looks just like Lee's.

Lee, are you and the rest of the Denver guys coming down to Austin this weekend?? Not sure we have met, but will see you there if you do come. My cat is the lime green, white, purple, and yellow bird. I have a feeling there will be a bunch of them down here this weekend.

I would like to be there!!!!

Sorry Mike,
I can't make the trip, I think there might be a few guys from Colorado Springs but I'm not sure! The next Rally I am going to is St. George, UT. the first weekend in May. I wished I had the time to attend many more Rally's around the country. Wouldn't it be nice to be retired so we all could do just that. Say a Rally every month!!!

Thanks for the replies, guys. I now modified my brackets (enlarged the holes) and everything fits nicely. A follow-up question: how far should the turbine be? From Silver's picture I see he has it as backwards as possible. Is this the way to go? Is it important at all? If I push it back then I hardly have to make any cutouts for the electric starter, which is nice.
Nikita.

Yep, it gets pushed back as far as you can get it.
