They were selling at half price does sound fishy.

RE: Too good to be true?

it was just a great deal

Exactly this was a new member with no feedback. Hmm wouldn't touch this unless it was a meet and pickup in person. As always too good to be tue normally is just that.

Had I seen the ad, I would have bought it right away. I'd just use a credit card with Paypal.

Seems odd...no RCU presence, and no turbine waiver holders in Byhalia, MS. Wonder where they were sourced?

RE: Too good to be true?

I know they sold but flagged as Fraud. Easily worth 50% more than they sold for if not 75%,

Some one will learn a hard lesson.

Lots of people use turbines for things other than aircraft, there is a very active tractor pulling thread on the Net using turbines.

My thoughts exactly
50% off for a brand new motor, brand new member, zero feed back, accept paypal only....

Buyer beware

Dreamworks sells these for $1999.99;)

heck of a deal

Wish I had gotten them so badly

Do you know the seller, you are very eager to seem to want to stick up for them. If you know the seller perhaps it would be of benefit for the seller and the RCU community for you to say so in case he decides to sell something else in the future.

I do not know the seller, but I did speak with him about them.

RE: Too good to be true?

If legit hell of deal, I already have one and they are great turbines. Why someone would sell an unused one for halve and free shipping is beyond suspicious. I would have offered $1900 for one of them and been happy saving $100. That was a quick $2k loss between the two of them.

RE: Too good to be true?

looks like just the turbine no ecu stuff

cyphur01 01-27-2013 08:42 AM

RE: Too good to be true?

Airraptor, vt80 has ecu built into the turbine. Only externals are fuel pump and connection wire for battery/pump. Great running motors. I built a sprint with one in it. Easy setup and awesome combo.

txshan130 01-27-2013 08:45 AM

RE: Too good to be true?

That is why it is only 2.4lbs installed; ecu integrated into turbine

Hi

He must be new to America , it,s in a vaccum package , ( I find that odd ) and he had a really hard time taakeing them out of that box ( I guess he was in a hurry ). For the price , it should be painted red ( hot )

I'm sure we'll be hearing someone crying about it soon enough.

RE: Too good to be true?

The packaging is correct, with the serial # clearly visible in the photo should be easily traced by Gaspar. Only 2 resellers in North America, Dreamsworks and Altecare. Another thing came to mind someone could have just posted that and mark as sold himself just to get a rise out of people such as me....[:@]

Yeah. Scam bait IMHO. Just joined, no posts, half off, etc etc. It's got all the ingredients, trouble is that it's so obvious it seems silly.

RE: Too good to be true?

aww sour grapes, maybe he is someone that doens't know what he's doing or just strapped for cash, pay with paypal using your credit card, not your account, you will be protected no matter what even if paypal decides they can't get your money your credit card can still charge back the paypal funds and get your money back.

would have picked both up:(
