Who knows about the Funsonic 170?
 

Can anyone help me here. Anyone with thoughts about the Funsonic 170, good or bad? Were or are they a good turbine? Are they well constructed and reliable? I know they are out of production but I'm considering a low-time second hand one. Anyone out there with any opinions??

Hi I have two funsonic 52 and 70 the good turbines super light and powerful so I think the 170 will be ok .

Have had two Funsonic in three different aircraft. Have had no problems. When you go for your first start be sure to do the calibration run so the ECU can learn the fuel system. This sets the pump voltage. Do not need alot of propane,once you get a light off,no propane is needed. Keep a eye on the battery voltage. Do not use a Jet Cat pump with this motor. Had about 40 flights on a small Crusader. I have nothing bad to say about the motor.

That's good to hear. Thanks for this info. I wonder why they stopped production.
Does anyone have the 170's manual? Also, I wonder if anyone is holding parts for it?
