Highland Jets, A Great success!
 

Kudo's to Mr Art Arro, for launching his first ever sanctioned jet event Near Utica, NY.

A beautiful field that begs to have Turbine Jet activity time and time again!

We are hoping that this one grows into becomming a premier upstate New York event.
Other than a little period of rain, and wind the site enjoyed three days of great flying with little to no obstructions at all.

For those that have attended, please, begin to spread the word, and emphisize how wonderful a flying site this truely is to others!

See you guys at the next one in Plum Island.

Frank, you didn't mention "Piggy" Pat's. Sounds like a motorcycle bar but I have to say I really enjoyed the quiet atmosphere, the good company and the ribs. "Piggy's" Carolina Sauce was great on my steak last night too! As for the flying and the venue, what a great place. I want to go back again and again. Last, Thank You again Frank for your assistance with my Reaction X and handling the maiden flight with your usual expertise.

Thanks Frank, and I trust that all the other jet pilotsexperienced good vibes at our inaugural Highland Jets last weekend. It was the first AMA-sanctioned event at this location and a bit rough around the edges at times. However, all pilots flew well and "exposed" R/C jet flying to the sheer amazement offellow club members and spectator public alike. The MVFirebirds went from a "Sorry, no turbines"stance to: when will have the next jet event? Plans are aleady underway for the 2nd annual editionand we hope for better weather in 2014.
BTW, the JPOTOPGUN ward went to Dominic M., aka"The Violator", for his consistent flying during all 3 days and especially his stunning formation sequence with Big Bri- which was a sight to behold.
Thanks again to all pilot participants at Highland Jets and I look forward to flying with you at the Plum Island Jet Rally in mid-June.

I wish to echo the comments from Frank, John and others that this was a very good start to what we all hope will be a long running future event. Thanks to all the Firebirds members that made this happen and to the Frankfort-Highland airport owners / management that allowed the use of this facility under Art's direction.

I'm looking forward to next years event.

Great job Art!!

Frankfort-Highland Airport is a fantastic venue for RC jets. Please give the Firebirds Club a big “Thank You” for allowing us to fly at their site and for all their hard work at the event. Great to see everyone and we’ll spread the word about this event for next year. Fantastic runway and great flyover zone.

Wish I could have been there, but I was in the middle of a major life event. I'm now a retired old fart, as of today. Looking forward to checking it out next year!

Congrats on your life changing event, ie, retirement. Now you'll have more time to attend various jet events throughout the year. Highland Jets was our inaugural/kickoff here in CNY and it went very well. Looking forward to seeing you and Ann at Plum Is.for more jet flying and an update on Highlandand Capitol Jetsfor 2014.

Many photos were taken, inluding video clips by Channel 2 news. Len Mc. from Dist. II also attended but don't know if he took any photos. I'm doing a report for Contrails and will include any photos that I can glean. It was a good show, hopefully the first of many.

Rick, thanks for posting these photos from Highland Jets. I presume they were all taken on Sat.
I'll have our local club papparrizi post his photos on our club website; www.mvfirebirds.com.
I believe he collected photos all 3 days of the event but may take him a while to compile them into a gallery for public viewing.
