Just wondering how Ken is coming along.

Just left hospital a little while. He has been in ICU for 25 days. His heart is doing great after the triple bypass and is not on any heart meds. But his kidneys and lungs have taken a pretty big hit. His kidneys have shut down and he can not breathe on his own. Has dialysis every day and has a breathing tube down his throat. He is sedated to the point where he is out of it all the time
Friday they are going to do a tracheostomy and put in a feeding tube in his abdomen. It's possible that he may never live at home again as he lives alone.
Until last week I was going to see him 2 or 3 times a day but have cut it back once a day. It's a 80 round trip to go to the hospital so my gas bill has jumped quite a bit.
He has two kids he hasn't seen in 30 years and has no idea where they are. Also has a bother in Vietman and can't get hold of him and has no other family.
I have all the legals papers including his medical directives. So his affairs are being taken care of.

Might as well lay it all on the line, Ken has a 2cm tumor in his right lung that has tested positive for cancer but can't touch it at this time. Luckily it is not growing in size.

Ken is a jet pilot here in Austin

Sorry to hear. That makes any ones problems seem trivial. Thoughts and prayers are going out for Ken. Hoping for the best............................

Life sometimes boils down to friends, doesn't it? Bob, you're a blessing to your friend, and when his time comes, you will have made it less lonely and more dignified. I hope everyone has at least one friend like you.

Thanks for all you're doing on Ken's behalf. He is in our thoughts every day and the entire jet community is pulling for his recovery. Thank you Bob, you are a pal.

I don't know the guy but I wish him luck and and take a little comfort that he has some good people around him seeing to his needs and hope they find his family.

I think an effort should be done to find his kids if not been done yet, I know we have some savy members that probably know how to search for them.

My thoughts and prayers to Ken. I pray that you are able to contact his family. His jet family is pulling for him!

Just sent him his Jets Over Kentucky polo shirt. Hopefully we will see him in it soon.

For the daughter the only info we have is her given name. no other info where born, etc. etc. For the son we have no info at all, not even a first name. The only thing we can hope for is when Ken wakes up, he can hopefully give a city or state where the kids where born.

Bob I was in Austin on the 26th and 27th, it would have bee nice to talk to you but the time for this trip was very short. How unfortunate regarding the lack of information to search for his kids [:@]
