Jetcat ECU align problem
Hi,
I tried to align a Jetcat ECU to a reciever (Futaba). I carried out the normal procedure from the Jetcat instruction manual. However when you get to the final stage it comes up with a message of 'Resetting Logdata' , it then asks ' Learn Radio' No Yes and you then have to repeat the whole align procedure again and will only then complete and operate correctly. Great you say, what's the problem ? Well when you turn off the receiver you have to realign again upon reciever turn on as the ECU does not recognise the receiver ? Has anybody come across this problem and how to solve it? John |
No. I use Futaba with JetCat and no issue. I believe you would want to reverse the throttle channel but even so it will still do a Learn R/C. Also increase the trim step to max so with 2 clicks you can go full trim travel assuming digital trims
How do you know it does not recognize the receiver. In that it simply will not start? |
Sounds like an ECU issue.

Thank you dbsonic, I have tried these already but made no difference. When I say it will not recognise the receiver, I mean that after the receiver has been switched off when finished running engine etc. You have to realign the ecu to the receiver when turned on again as if it did not recognise it and you have to start align process all over again !

The ECU is just reading the Pulse Width of the throttle channel. It doesn't matter the brand of rx they all put out a pulse.
Even if you have the radio on the wrong channel or program the ECU will not asked you to relearn. You have to prompt a "relearn RC" while you power up the unit. It never does it on its own. You must have an ECU problem. |
It could be. Piper1 just curious, are you using an aux channel where the ECU has you learn both the Throttle and the Aux channel in succession? versus single channel mode(Throttle and trim only).
I will say the Jetcat manual is not the greatest in this area of learn RC for single versus 2 channel. Kind of confusing since its in a couple different places in the manual. It deserves its own chapter or section really. |
Hi dbsonic, no just using the Throttle and trim only. Agree with your comment, manual not very helpfull ! Thanks for you comments, I will swap out ecu at the weekend and see how I get on.

Hi quist, thank you for the information, I will try swapping out the ecu and see how I get on.
