Jets Models Factory Ultima Tun
While attending Jetpower 2013 I saw this new sport jet and liked it a lot. It has a 2m wing span and is very similar in appearance to the Futura. I want this jet or one similar to it and wonder if anyone has an angle on getting one in the US? While in Germany the Jets Model rep told me they would fly one at BITW at Buttonwillow, but they were a no show.
I have tried several times by e-mail to contact Jets Models Factory in Spain but have not received a response. I am reluctant to order one now, even if they eventually respond until someone in the US actually has one in their hands. The cost for the airframe, pipe and tank is about 2k. It looks amazing in the air and flys like it is on rails. So has anyone actually bought and flown one of these? Steve |
Update....
Got a repy finally from Jets Models Factory to my request. Still would like to let someone else be the guinea pig stateside to order one of these. I guess I will be one of the first. If so I will post some thoughts on the kit when I receive it. Steve |

I asked for some info and received the following pics from Raul:
|
What are the dimensions and cost?
|
I just ordered one, 2,000 for airframe and 900 for gear. Wingspan is about 79 inches. Cost does not include any paint or vinyl. I plan to do the finish myself. Raul quoted about an 8 week delivery date. Hope to get it before the end of the year. I plan a Jetcat P90 for power.
|
This, the Pirotti Rebel and ZN Line Wizard all are very interesting.
Did the $2k include shipping? |
Nope, shipping is another 350.00
|
That's about the same I was quoted for the Wizard. Did your cost include pipe and tank?
|
Yes it includes 115 oz tank, UAT tank, pipe and some prewiring.

Nice buy Stevojet. For anyone looking for a new sport jet this makes quite the ultimatum :p
I snapped some pics of her at Jetpower 2013: Size wise she holds her own without being too big for most family transport http://rcparkflying.com/rcpf/ultimatun/ultimatun1.JPG Some similarities to the Futura alright, ultimately it flies very well at high speed and is very impressive to watch in the air http://rcparkflying.com/rcpf/ultimatun/ultimatun2.JPG Jet models factory had a good stand with a lot of folks there, they seem to be a quite serious company in the end which is reassuring http://rcparkflying.com/rcpf/ultimatun/ultimatun3.JPG From memory I think the base model comes with a pipe and some wiring? I can't recall the exact specifics but it looked like they had identified some of the typical 'barriers to entry' for purchasing a jet and by including them at the factory they make this a compelling option. I also like the way they mount the retract nosewheel, very flush/compact. I guess the motor/gears has to stay in good shape though to be able to force the nose wheel forward against the wind force, I guess you need to have quality hardware, although this jet does ooze quality so I guess if you own one you are not likely to start fitting it out with Hobbyking. http://rcparkflying.com/rcpf/ultimatun/ultimatun4.JPG |

Order update and thread update.....
I think I might be getting close to a shipping date on my plane. I ordered on October 23 rd and Raul emailed me last week with a tenative shipping date of this week. Once I get it I plan to do a build thread so all can compare it to the Dynamo thread here on RCU. The Ultimatun and Dynamo are very similar jets. When I get it I will get started...... Steve |

Ultima Build Thread

I received my new UltimaTun from Raul in Spain on Christmas eve but have been busy until now. Attached are a couple photos. A cursory review of all the parts has been done and it all looks good. Some minor shipping damage to the fuse is a little disappointing but overall it looks like a good kit. Raul has included some wing bags which are very nice.
I have gathered most of the equipment...Jetcat P90, cortex demon gyro, Hitec 7954 servos. As I a start the build I plan to post pictures and log my progress. Hopefully I have loaded the photos correctly for all to see. If I had one complaint it would be that all the prewired servo extensions that are included with the jet have no end plugs installed. Will require lots of crimping. Steve |
Hello Steve,
We are very proud of your comments about our airplane. Just want to explain that we do not put plugs on the prewiring because some people like us prefer weld the wire directly to the servo for safety. Lot of connections sometimes can cause many problems. Thats the reason because we just give the prewiring without plugs. Keep in tought!! Raśl |

I started work on the wings and wiring. I decided to use a 9 pin dsub connector for the wings to fuse. All the wiring harnesses supplied by Raul have been crimped off and cut to length. All the wiring comes imstalled in the wings but needs to be crimped or soldered. I crimped everything. It wasn't as hard as I expected, but time comsuming. So far the build quality of everything seems very good. I had to do a small amount of filing and dremel work to complete install of all servos. All seem to fit as advertised. Elevator servo arms required some minor dremel work to get them to fit. Not a big deal. Next up is the gear install. btw, Raul tells me he plans to fly this model at Florida Jets next month. steve |
