14mz programming assistance needed.
I am using a futaba 14mz. I want to program my gear switch in such a way that when I flick switch G (gears switch) it moves the servo arm to a predetermined position and then after a 5-10 sec delay the arm should move a bit more towards the same direction in order to depress a switch which will activate doors. I plan to use this for closing the nose door on a BVM ultra bandit. The retract servo will first close the gears by pushing the BVM retract valve and then move beyond that position thereby pressing a clippers switch that will close the nose door.
I know with a 14mz this can be done I'm not just not able to think through the logic on how to achieve this. Any suggestion would be very helpful. Please see this video and go to minute 1.30. This is being done on a spectrum radio. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQphSWqKRtU Thanks in advance. |
Chris Smith helped me out with sequencing on a Futaba 12c.
There are three things you will have to do. Firstly you introduce a slow speed function on the SWITCH you use for retracts, not the servo speed. This will provide the delay you need between the wheel retracting & the door closing. The second thing to do is use the point exponential function to have the servo move to operate the retract valve, remain at that position while the switch slow function times, then move the last little bit. The third thing to do is to mix the switch to the retract function. Here's a link to the thread that Chris helped me with. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/rc-j...ogramming.html My application was door open, move gear, door close. John. |
Why do you need to go through all this Ragz? On my UB it had a button air switch operated by the nose leg which shut the door.

Mick I had the same setup as yours, but on one flight the struts did not close the button fully, perhaps due to some lateral play in the strut and it resulted in a belly landing. I don't want to take chances anymore.. and this is a sure shot way.

John,
Thanks for the tips. I will go through it. |
Ragz I have a PDF of the setup Boomerang mentions that I can send you.
Another solution is to mount the door button valve next to the retract servo and have the arm depress the servo. Make the airline longer on the door valve to give it a delay. A simple setup is to use one extra servo to press the button valve. It will need to be an offset mix with a time delay assigned. Bob |

You have a $15K jet, buy a sequencer! LOL;)

Why use external sequencing when the radio is so capable?
