Thanks for Info.
Now i ordered M70 and planning to install to Phoenix SeaHawk.
But i think the some reinforcement of tail section(mainly flying tail anti flutter) and vertical is necessary.
Is there any advice to this project?

Many thanks,
K.Tanabe from Japan.

I have built many of the Phoenix model jets and other than removing the film where the glue joint is, I have never had an issue with failure.

Hello Everyone,
I am considering to get one of this model to convert it for a Wren44 turbine , which outputs 4.5 kg of thrust...I couldn't find decent info on turbine conversion, as said in this thread...
I can't decide if this engine will be a good match or underpowered... As i follow from videos and info over web, i can see the flying weight is around 7.0-7.2 kgs all together with liPos. But i need to know the airframe weight and/or dry weight of this model.
In webpage of final-modellbau, which probably i will be purchasing this model, it writes it flies great with small turbines like colibri T35, which produces 3.5 kg thrust, 1 kg less than my turbine. And when i contacted them with same question, they responded that this model will fly great with wren44... Still I am not convinced.
This turbine was in a Black Horse Model L-39 albatros and that set up was around 6.5 kg dry weight. I made around 25 flights, all was stressful because was a bit heavy jet and wing area was 43dm3 etc.... 70-80 percent on thrust stick all the time...
So, any kind of info, comment, recommendation will be appreciated if anyone still following this thread...
Thanks, Best Regards,
Serkan S.

There have been a few up and flying in Germany form what I have seen, but mine is still tucked away in it's box until at least I finish my skymaster hawk build.

If this is your very first EDF, then I might suggest that you have bitten off quite a fair chuck for your first one!

It should be a fairly straight forwards ARF assembly though, so if you've put together anything more than just PNP foamies then you shouldn't stray to far off the right path. As with all hawks, pay close attention to the hori stab and make 110% sure you have removed all free play from the linkages and that you have the most decent servos you can find on there. One of the one's in Germany had a hori stab fail in flight and he put it down to a lack of glue on the retaining pin. I'm umming and arrring as to weather I open the covering up and have a good look, and a glue adding session in there.

Thanks

Dave

P.s. you will get a lot more support in a dedicated EDF section. like on RCG. there is a thread already there about this model

They also have an L 39 of the same size as the Hawk, which would be a good candidate for K 80 power with the required stregthining.

I would even consider putting a turbine in the viper if Kingtek ever bring out a 3.5-4 kg engine. But do already have a big Viper.

I'll be quite interested in ya progress bro.
