Jet Legend Yak 130 just arrived !

Well I had been pondering and thinking about it for some time then the crunch came and I pulled the trigger and waited with anticipation for a couple of months and finally here it is, the new JL Yakolev 130...in 1/4 scale ! It arrived in a massive box extremely well packed lined with plywood and bubble wrap to the hilt.. not a sign of any scrap of damage anywhere; I'm pleased to say..... the airplane is stunning, the scale detail is excellent and the workmanship first class... its light and strong i ordered it for twin engine installation but you can order it for single as well.. I also had the doors and gear installed and plumbed together with the air lines and sequencer and the lighting system and all the servos installed at the factory for an additional price.... worth it as I have no time to build anymore as the business takes up all of my time ,,, and it has just taken me a year to build and paint the T2 Buckeye... both will be at Fhttp://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=1964581http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=1964589http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=1964588http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=1964587http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=1964586undefined[/IMG]lorida jets see you there ,,,,,,, here are some pix to wet your whistle...

Jet flyer when you ask for a complete installation like this the factory check every servo operation and every linkage and mountings they set the operation up with their own transmitter etc .... But any body who invested in this would want to check every item himself before attempting to fly. Just to make sure everything is 100percent MK

Very nice Malcolm!
Like the colour scheme, makes a change from the usual grey. |

Hi Malcom
Congratulations, I am keeping a close eye on this one. With a couple of P100, should fly fine. Because it is JL's first jet this size, I was a bit concerned regarding structural rigidity. One nice feature is that it as a wing tube. Could you let me know the tube diameter? Is it carbon or alu? I am planning to order one, but would like carbon formers in a jet of this size... Will you be making a build thread? regards Nuno |
Nuno I'm not doing a build thread because there is very little building to to do basically I just have to join the two fuselarge halves together and plug in the lighting wires and the airlines put on the wings and elevators , check all the linkages and install two turbines. And that is it
all the hard work is done for you at the factory it is as close to plug and play as you could get... In answer to your question the wing tube is aluminum about an inch and three quarters wide or 45 to 50 mm not exact just a guess the construction is all wood formers and there is a lot of them even so the fuse is very light The scale detail is Amazing the panels on the fuse are lumpy bumpy like the real Russian airframes the paintwork is first class the cockpit is good work and it will take an eighteen inch pilot. 1/4 scale .The landing gear is enormously strong in construction and the wheels are giant air inflated tires. I,ll let you have some more pictures as I go along MKi |

The finish on the right hand side wing look like it is covered with plastic film over balsa. I'm sure that is not the case - reflection in your photo? Very impressive jet. Cheers, Jan |

That "dog" is Mike Hapsas,s American Bulldog ! Tank is his name and he only gets excited when the Jehovas Witnesses come calling ,,they taste sooooo good!
|
Starrjet2, I was wondering why you balance with the gear down. I was just wondering since I was taught to do this with the gear down.
