I am just about to fit one of these beauties to my Tazer - Link to the build thread: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/rc-j...sport-jet.html

I have got the rectangular one, which has a frame to allow you to easily sink it through panel and the screw it in place. They are hand made in the UK by Saleem Siddique.

Hi Martin
I was given the sphere and the cube UAT from FCT to use in each of the two Aurora Builds I did last year for Ian at Modelbou UK and was very impressed with them both.
The first install I did for Ian was a part build to get his blue "Hawk Aurora" finished and ready to fly in time for the 2013 Jetpower. This build was just the fuz and tails surfaces as his demo pilot Jamie Cuff had already finished the wings. In this blue one I fitted the more familiar cube type, its "very" well made with good sized fittings and has a very good flow rate through the removable "hence serviceable" centre pick up with its built in filter, The removable filter is is a big advantage as I've noticed not all the available moulded UATs from other manufatures allow access to the filter, any UAT with sealed filters would have a fairly limited life.

The second build I did for Ian was on his Red/Yellow "Brietling Aurora" that I see was featured on the front of "Jet International" mag. Again this one was a bit of a rush to get ready for Jetpower last year but as the Aurora is an easy build it turned out to be a neat straight forward install it was finished in pleanty of time for proveing flights before we left for Germany. On this second Aurora build I got to do the whole thing from scratch and along with the fantastic FCT main tank with duel fuel and smoke @ 4+2lt I fitted Saleems very first sphere shaped UAT. I was blown away when I first saw the new UAT, it looks brilliant and is a lovely well thought out design.

With hind sight a UAT being a sphere is a no brainer :). It gives the maximum head from the pick up to the outer edge of the UAT in any attitude and the biggest margin of "air trapped" for any available UAT at this or any size. Again it has a flange for easy fitting and large bore CNC fittings for good fuel flow. Again the whole centre pick up with it serviceable filter is very easy to access.

In both these airframes I fitted Jet Munts 160s and the UATs can very easily cope with the fuel flow, I'm guessing they would be suitable for any sized turbine from the 90 you intend to fit in Alan's airframe you have there right up to 200-300 sized turbines we see popping up every were lately.

Martin and Mark,
Thank you for your comments. I am glad you like my UATs.

Hi Martin. I think you'll be very please with the UAT from Saleem. The fact that you can remove the filter easily makes for easy cleaning, no need to rely on back flushing where you're not quite sure that you have removed enough debris. The round one is unique in that the trapped air stays on the inside of the ball with no chance of it entering the supply line.

Saleem is a master at working Kevlar and takes great pride in his work which is why he does all the manufacturing himself ensuring a first class product

By the way stock them and they sell like hot cakes all over the world;)

We'll be fitting one to our new 2014 season Spider Aurora which is due in anytime now and we should have it at the JMA AGM weekend

I like the sphere, what size turbines have they been tested with?

Hello everybody,

I am also successfully use UAT from Saleem at my Futura Tomahawk. Regarding with few flights it work absolutely perfect without bubbles. Mechanical design is absolutely great without any compromise. I am fully recommend them.

Bellow is few building pictures:

I've been using FCT tanks for a couple of years now and I have to say they are the bees knees, Saleem's UAT's are true quality with the added advantage you can replace the filter should you ever have to do so. Can't understand why you would buy a sealed tank? Great tanks Saleem (FCT) and what's more you can buy them direct from Saleem.....Excellent.

[QUOTE]Can't understand why you would buy a sealed tank?[QUOTE].......to reduce the number of potential failure points, every place you introduce a screw or a seal you add to the chances of a leak :)

FlyingMT, Thanks, I appreciate the positive feedback on my product, however there are a variety of UAT tanks on the market and they all have specific qualities that differentiate them from each other and it is down to these differences where customers can choose which one to buy.

While I appreciate you want to reduce any potential failure points, if back flushing fails to clear a blocked tank then you're left with replacing it, not a great option for me! FCTJET is right you pay your money and make YOUR choice!!

Very sharp! Heaven forbid it comes with a way of mounting it! Those nalgene es are a bit slippery.

Saleems tanks are great quality but he did, for a period change the filter to a some gauze and felt just loaded into the cage/holder. Check you have a proper filter system and not his cheaper version that could result in flameouts?
