Looking for another solution
 

I am looking around for a better solution to the current air gauges I use. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=1978968 The work really well but the small size makes the it hard to tell the pressure when its in the jet. Something s about the size of a normal face watch would be nice. Thanks

The bigger ones are a dime a dozen, these small ones you are showing were the harder ones to find

what kind of 3mm fitting? A barb or a push to connect?

I prefer the barb type, I try to stay away from festo type connections with air stuff.

Yeah I saw that, I love those things but since I do electric retracts I normally only use air for brakes, gear doors and canopy. Those air gauges are what im looking for and Country hit the nail on the head! Thanks guys!

Fender, I use the digital ones from Dreamworks- they work great! I think they were like $45 for a dual channel gauge (similar to buying two large analog ones).

The down side.....they dont lie. You will know your air system sucks! :-)

LOL well I consider that a bonus, cant tell u how much time I have looking at the little round ones! Leaks so small you would swear it was sitting still and holding lol
I think I may give the dual one a try on the next project since its pretty descent price and no guess work. Now if I could only get you guys to come up with a time machine and jump forward about 9 months till I get back state side argggg :mad:

yeah there used to be a list of popular mcmaster products that were perfect replacements for a lot of hobby stuff but I lost that link a while ago. Im sure someone still has it ;)

Hey buddy, hope you are doing well. We had a great time at Fl Jets.

I stopped using air gauges several years ago in my jets. What good are they? You can't see them and they are really not needed. I set up my system and make sure it holds air and use the gauge on my compressor for filling. If the tams failsafe kicks in some day at the field I go looking for a leak. The gauge doesn't help me at all. Just another leak point IMO.

That's kinda funny since Festo fittings are designed for use in pneumatic systems. ;-)

Personally, I try to stay away from Festo fittings in the fuel system. I have no problem using them in my air systems.

Vincent, I tried that on my f-15 but ended up adding one. Its just nice to see how much you have and prevents me having to hold my compressor while i fill.
Jim, well that maybe true but I have had problems with the airlines being to big and two small for festo fittings. I have used a few different brands of air line and they all seem to be different some, plus the barb is what I like.

Hey, I was wondering how things went for you at the event. I have not had a chance to attend FL jets due to the distance but if things work out next year I am hoping to attend. Hows that viper jet coming, any pictures of it yet?

Wow, I have had nothing but leak after leak using festo's for air. I went to barbed fittings and had no issue since. As far as fuel system, If I use festo's, I use them only on the pushing, not pulling side of the pump.

I do the same thing.... just another leak point, it's a waste does nothing really
