Classic Jets Friday 11th April

The eve of another CJ event Number fifty something!
Weather was looking good (been too busy to look lately!) Van is part packed with models and goodies, but stacking number of test flights already booked, means I don't need more!

Looking forward to a great day. M&R gang will be meeting just before 8 at the usual place.

Just got back from an amazing CJ, best i can remember for a long time!
Light winds down the runway, no rain and ....T shirt weather.:rolleyes:
As normal, Dick and friends did us proud with a fantastic bacon breakfast and burgers for lunch.
Thanks to all who worked while we played!

Still unpacking and sorting today's business!

Such a busy day for me, I'm shattered and can't even work through the few pixs I managed to shoot. Think I test flew five new models and helped out with some others. Will see what a nights sleep does for me!

Great shots as usual, it really was a mega day for the UK jet scene-busy, safe, pretty incident free and fun. Big thanks to the "new boys" Big and little G the flight line controllers for giving up chunks of their day.

I brought along half a dozen club members who had never been to a jet meet...they said it was like nothing else!!

Yesterday was one of the best of the 58 we've done so far! Everything went off well, everybody seemed to have a good time and best of all, there were no major model issues!

Typically, on the busiest one we've had for years, the Army Airfield Manager/H&S Officer decided to descend on the event and check through all my paperwork, policies, organisation and arrangements, but he was content with what we've got in place and was particularly impressed with our systems of work/organisation...so he enjoyed lunch and an hour on the flightline taking pics (he's a modeller too, co-incidentally!) before going back to work and emailing me his report! All positive stuff!

I've never seen so many models parked in the pit area before and it looked to me like there was never a period when a queue to get airborne didn't exist. I've got to thank Jamie and Geoff in particular for a great job on the Flightline - sterling work chaps, not an easy task with so much going on! Great to see Ali giving Rei Gonzales' F-84 a final airing before it leaves Phil's workshop for Top Gun USA, and particularly nice to se 'my' Mirage being given death by Florent Colombet who came over with his mate from just north of Paris for the day - thanks for the wine chaps!

Can't thank the crew enough, or the guys who keep coming along to make CJ the best jet event in the UK, and it was nice to welcome Martin and Hannah to the post CJ de-brief in the Dog House last night...hope the trip home was painless!

PS...Al, good luck to you and your family for the future from all of us at CJ - thanks for your support over the years, the event will be poorer without you. Enjoy the USA!

was such a good day, many first flights, Andy Rann had his first taste on his CARF Hawk since I test flew it at LM back in March and he's another added UF convert with his eye on one for the next model.

Classic Jets is always a great meeting and thanks to Dick and the crew we get to do this four times a year!
Great weather great crowd, there was at least 60 aircraft in the start up area at one point!
Really looking forward to July's meeting. ;)
Paul's right there was video being taken but I don't know who it was!

It was a very well run and great day everyone made us feel welcome, we had 6 great flights, some nice pics there.
Quick question has anyone picked up a rusty gas bottle with a green wren type valve and a regulator on the pipe it has the fitting for my jet i think i left in on the flight line with a small taxi tank.
