My wife keeps making fun of me...

Ok, so first my wife made a lot of fun of me for amputating the legs of my one of my pilots...

So on my next plane I decide to leave the legs on. Now she really can't stop laughing!?!?

dubd 04-21-2014 09:45 PM

Someone get that pilot a beer, stat!

Alex48 04-22-2014 01:02 AM

Just show her how much it cost, that normally gets them to stop laughing ;)

Put the legs under the plane, like (Fred Flintstone) she might pass out lol

Scott Douglas 04-22-2014 03:45 AM

Mine just makes fun of me...end of story. Wait till she sees the next credit card bill though ;)

Kevin_W 04-22-2014 08:20 AM

You know when you lose something and say "it must have grown legs and walked away"? If you happen to misplace that cockpit you can forgo part of that statement. LOL

Why keep them? It just ads extra weight that you don't need. I guess the only reason is if you decide to change the pilot you can sell it?

Granpooba 04-22-2014 09:20 AM

Well, at least she is not making fun of you in other departments ! At least I assume that she is not. LOL

SPEED51J 04-22-2014 10:34 AM

My wife hates them. Says they creep her out and are always staring at her. So I made a special pilot. She made me put him back in the box.

On a serious note, I had a friend that lost both legs in an aircraft accident. He went on to get his medical back, flying and teaching at a simulator training center.

With or without legs, everybody can be a good pilot. ;)

So true ...

Imagine being honest.
"Don't worry honey, it was on sale for only $130.00. But the jet was $8,700.00 and the engine was just another $2,800.00"

P47Tbolt 04-22-2014 02:16 PM

mine used to make fun of me and my "TOYS". she hasn't made fun of me in about 8-9 months now since we went our
separate ways. I miss her every now and then..................................until I go to next flyin or to the club field.

stevekott 04-22-2014 02:43 PM

Mine used to give me a hard time about the amount of time I spent on it how it seemed like an obsession.

Then I told her "Hey look, a guy needs to have a hobby to keep him sane. Look at Tiger Woods, now his hobby is a lot more expensive and a lot more obsessive. Is mine so bad?"

To which she responded "You have a point! Go play with your Jets. I'm going to buy a new pair of shoes."

She has been a lot more understanding ever since :)

A guy in my club said he got an Ultra Bandit for his wife, said it was a good trade...

DEVILDOG 04-22-2014 05:37 PM

My ex wife used to laugh at my hobby too. After relentless banter from her I asked her to stop and how would she like it if she didnt see me for about three days...she said she didnt care what I do or where I go....the first day she didnt see me, the second day she didnt see me and on the third day she could just barely see me out of the corner of her left eye!!!!!!!

JUST KIDDING BTW....Funny stuff though!!!

For our tenth anniversary I bought my wife a SVT Cobra Mustang convertible.
Now whenever I hear, how much did that new model cost?
I simply reply, not nearly as much as that Mustang.

My friend Ron Stahl always tells his wife model planes are cheaper than blondes and Corvettes. She's happy with planes.

I also explain lain to my misses, if I die before you don't sell my stuff for what I told you I paid for it.

I like to maiden the plane with the CG a bit forward. Will likely take them off once I'm convinced it's safe to move the CG aft.

Sorry to heir about your friend. Glad he is back doing what he loves. Just out of curiosity how does he operate the rudder and brakes?
Did he have the aircraft modified or has he got another trick which he uses.
