12X Screen backlight color ?

I have noticed that some of the JR 12X transmitters have a distinct blue color back lit screen, while others have a whitish gray looking back lit screen. Any idea when that changed or why ?

12x's have been around along time, I'm sure at some point it changed for some reason or another, new supplier, updated tech etc....
