Like every project, when the pieces are on the table, you wunder where to start. Looked at it for a hour or so, and whent to town.
This will be the order for now 1- Clean up all,( what not should be their in the first place) 2-remove the speed brakes and tape the flaps for inside red paint. 3-Trim the cockpits for easy removal and install rail for support 4- install the fuel tanks 5-beef up any area's with special epoxy formula of West systems 205 epoxy, milled carbon fiber( very hard to find a supplier) and Cabosil Thixotropic filler. 6-Build a front mount for the gages and power box switch That's 2 days work more to come. Take some pictures so we can follow along.

Hi Pete,

Flaps now done, I added a 5ply 5/32'' plate for the horn, their just was not enough thickness to mount by itself.

The Rudder assembly needed extra work, the whole system is too low, into the pipe, removed 3/8'' on the horn /rudder post, also removed the servo plate and replaced it with 5/32'' 5ply, c/w blind nuts for the servo, and raised it a 1/2''. I used just one servo rod, but am not happy with the amp. draw and binding, will remove and go with the suggested pull pull.http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2059339http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2059340http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2059341http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2059342http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2059343http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2059344http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2059345

Pete, have you tried the West Systems 610? It is already a thickend epoxy that is way cheaper then other cartridge dispensed epoxies and it uses a regular caulking gun to pump it out. I use it all the time for filled bonding areas and you could mix in other fillers as well. I don't use the supplied tip and just apply it with a artist's palate knife.
Are you looking for short stranded carbon 1/4 inch or milled carbon like power? I can put you onto the 1/4 carbon but don't know a spouce for the milled powder type like cabosil powder. |

HI Ron, I have used 610, but I prefer my mix, the milled carbon is hard to find, it is not 200 micron powder or 1/32'', smaller , see pic.

HI all, ran the turbine tonight, started first try, ran like a champ.
Just need to wait now for some gear valves to arrive to finish up, and if my plan is close, should need no nose weight for CG.
