Help Programming with 12X TX
 

I recently removed a matchbox which was plugged into CH4 for RUDD / Nose wheel. I now am using CH4 for the nose wheel and mated rudder AUX6 to CH 4. AUX 6 is now INH in Device Select and mated to CH 4. No problem with this, all works fine. What I would like to do is to be able to use the normal rudder trim to adjust the nose wheel without changing the rudder. It sounds like there is a way to INH the rudder (which is my AUX 6) from the rudder trim but I have been unable to figure out how... JR12X, 12 CH Receiver, Bandit Arf. Yes, there is a way.

You have to make the nose wheel the master and the rudder the slave and make sure there isn't a "+" in the master channel. The "+" makes the trim also affect the slave channel.

This is exactly how I set up my jets.

RAV, I got you on the "+" for the Master allowing the trim function for the slave. When I enter into the Prog MIX 1 I can set my Master as RUDD, (which is my nose wheel) but when I click on the slave my options do not include AUX6. Instead, it reads "RDVT" where AUX 6 should be. When I tried AUX7 instead of AUX6, the space that should have AUX7 then switched to "RDVT". What AUX are you using for your rudder ???

When you disable the rudder trim. What transmitter knob do you assign then to trim the rudder?

2Walla, I agree. :o That is how I was trying to configure it. It took me a bit to realize that I couldn't have my rudder AUX6 mated with my nose wheel CH4 in wing type and get my rudder AUX6 to be slave to my Nose Wheel CH4 master in the Prog Mix. As soon as I INH AUX6 in wing type all was good. Now I can trim my nose wheel without having it move my rudder. Life is good !!!

An alternative, should you wish to experiment is what I do, which gives me separate trim buttons for rudder and nose wheel. The rudder trim button is the normal one below the rudder/throttle stick, and the nose wheel trim is the "eyebrow" button at the top left of the rudder/throttle stick. (I'm assuming Mode 2 here.)

Plug the rudder servo in to the normal RUDD channel and the nose wheel servo in to one of the AUX channels. I usually use AUX 5 or above.

In "Device Select", set the AUX channel used to ACT and L. TRIM.

In "Wing Type", do NOT select anything for RUDD, should be INH.

In "PROG. MIX<whatever>", select RUDD as master and AUX channel as slave. Set Pos. 0 to L 100% and R 100% (or whatever floats your boat.) For Pos. 1 set L 0% and R 0%. Finally, set GEAR to "1".

With this set up, you can trim the rudder normally and independently of the nose wheel. Additionally, when you retract the gear, the nose wheel servo is turned off and centered.

Just a quick note regarding the above... If you are have twin rudders and are using separate channels for them (as well as a channel for the nose) do everything the same, with the exception of the "Wing Type". In there, for RUDD, you will want to select the second rudder channel.
