10th Annual "ROUTE 66 JETS", 2015

Turbine jets, ICE ducted fan, and electric ducted fan jets are welcome. Endless expanse is available for setting up personal canopies parallel to the runway, as well as motorhomes along the taxiway. The taxiway has been extended south the full length of the runway, which is not shown in the above website airport picture. Overnight locked hangar plane storage and transport available. Friday & Saturday night dinner on site, and free t-shirt included with registration. Saturday evening awards, pilot prizes, and auction. Several excellent hotels and restaurants are available locally, including our host hotel, "Baymont Inn". The Litchfield, Illinois Municipal Airport....... St Louis 60 miles, Chicago 250 miles. Indianapolis 210, Kansas City 300. OUR RUNWAY is within 2 miles of a major interchange (I-55), accommodations a stone's throw, Runway 18-36 (4003'X75') closed for General Aviation, unlimited air space, Jet A on site, hanger storage, contiguous to the Mother Road, etc. etc. Our main contact is Jim Wright who is probably the most cooperative and tireless individual you could imagine. All the Local Officials have no problems just solutions.....Amazing just Amazing ! ! ! We should have Jason's big F-104 ready for prime time and a Classic Flash all decked out in Artic Camo Aggressor scheme. We may even resurrect our ME262 Clown Show. You know, ME262's with clowns flying them.
We plan to come early, fly often and have lots of fun. |

Doing some planning for the event. Last year there was a hotel that had special rates for the event. I have slept since then but think it might have been the Holiday Inn Express. Is that correct and if so have you got anything negotiated with them or other hotels in town.

Thanks. Name change: "Holiday Inn Express", old location, is now "Baymont Inn". "Holiday Inn Express" has always been our host hotel for our reserved block of discounted rooms. That facility is now owned by "Baymont Inn". We WILL still be using the same location for our host hotel as always. "Holiday Inn Express" has built a new facility close by, but with higher rates. Rates: "Baymont Inn" reserved rate is $79 if staying at least two nights.
