Cg machine deluxe bundle.

Dear all.

I would like to give you a short presentation on an accessory that we are going to introduce to the market at Jets Over Kentucky.
This is a Deluxe Package for the CG machine from Xicoy.

http://www.ultimate-jets.net/collect...-deluxe-bundle

We have been working hard to get the Xicoy CG machine perform as the precision instrument it is.
Since day 1 we have been inspecting and calibrating every scale and central unit and we have gained a considerable experience on how the scale system is working and how to adjust it for maximum precision.
Every single scale of every set is inspected, calibrated and matched to the central unit and every result is recorded on a calibration certificate. Every unit is sold with a serial number and the associated certificate.
We have a precision instrument that is incredibly reliable and useful. So much that we decided to go a step further into a professional product.

We are now offering a Deluxe bundle that includes the following:
. The CG machine
. 3 angle sensors
. A MIL spec casing custom designed by SKB for the product.
. A custom made plumb bob
. A 4 cell NimH battery
. A specific " advanced procedures" manual
. The certificate of calibration

The MIL spec casing is made in the USA by SKB. It is a iSeries unit that features an ultra strong construction, secure latches, vent system and is water proof.
The case is custom specced for the CG machine and features a specific foam padding that includes pockets for each of the components: each scale, the cables, the battery and plumb bob the head unit and each angle sensor..

The plumb bob is a custom design that I fined tuned on lots of balancing jobs and planes. It is CAD designed and precision 3D laser printed.
The shape and rubberized resin used are designed so that it can be used as a stylus to type on the tiny center unit keyboard.

The plumb line is a very thin and flexible dacron wire. This enables a very light weight of the whole plumb line.

https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/01...16077235114488

As a consequence, the plumb line base uses sticky blue tack paste to adhere to any type of surface.
The base is designed with a hole in the center so that one can see the CG mark done on the plane before transferring it vertically to the table top.
Because of the very light weight of the system, one can stick electrician tape to write the position of the CG on the fuselage and then place the plumb line base on top of it without un-sticking it.

http://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/015...13696583298532

The line length securing is done by passing the dacron wire between the fuselage and the blue tack paste. More pressure on the base will increase the securing of the line.
The blue tack paste used is sticky enough to hold the plumb line on any surface used for model building: gel coat, solarfilm, painted fabric, foam, plywood... It can be used tens of times and then cleaned with mineral spirit. It is very easy to change after a while anyway.

The 4 cell Nimh battery was chosen with care as well. We found out that we had a lot less drift using this type of battery. I suspect that the unit is more stable at a lower tension of 5 to 6 volts. Also because the unit is working by reading voltage across the solid state sensor, I think that a battery with a higher voltage drop is favoring the drift.
With the included battery, we typically get about 4 grs/ 0.08 lb drift per 20 minutes.

The new advanced procedures manual is exclusively made for our customers and details the proper procedures to balance the plane with the scales.
it includes a custom model log and details the use of the Ultimate Jets plumb bob, laser level and includes troubleshooting procedures.

We will have this new set available at Jets Over Kentucky.
The next stock order should arrive next week and although we won't have the time to verify and calibrate the new batch, we'll take the orders at the meeting once our current stock is gone.

I don't see how you can make it any better than it already is. Absolutely fantastic. I have checked it against all other methods and is more accurate and easier to use than any other method . exactly like we used to do with full scale cg but we didn't have the computer . Lol
It makes installation of equipment a breeze

Very nice Oli. Is it possible to pickup just a case and plumb bob in Kentucky? I already have the CG machine and angle sensors from you. I could also bring mine for an exchange of that's easier? Thanks for the consideration!

Ragz 07-05-2015 07:06 AM

Even I want the case and plumb bobs.

Sure buddy.
We'll bring one case and plumb bob kit for you at JOK.

I already bought a Pelican case after seeing one here on the forum, but are you going to sell just the plumb bob Oli?

I haven't used mine yet but my unit came out of I think your second batch and didn't have a calibration certificate. I know some of the guys have been complaining about the scales but in my experience with the big stuff we basically only calibrated the scales because father Fed requires annual calibration of devices and test instruments. Is this calibration issue being over blown as I suspect?

That's not problem Anurag. But the case is bulky and empty. Kind of expensive to ship at it will go per volume.
Can you wait for me to bring a few back from Houston in my luggage? Otherwise I guess shipping to our Middle-East stock would be about 35 USD per unit.

Hi Gary.
We can ship a plumb bob over to you, no problem.
We disassemble every unit we get from Gaspar, realign, match and calibrate every set before shipping to the customers.
So far only one of our customer reported a calibration issue out of over 50 units sold. So I think our protocol has proven to be pretty solid till now.
We spent a lot of time working on the machines and gained a considerable experience about the device. This should show when reading the advanced procedure manual ( I hope that you received your copy ).
However should you experience any issue, please call Woody to get support.

Zeeb 07-05-2015 07:53 AM

Hey Oli,
That's kind of what I figured on the calibration issue. No, I didn't get the new manual you guys put together. Should I just call Woody for the plumb bob and ask him about the manual?
Thanks,
Gary

You haven't been reading what people have said. Lots of people getting seriously faulty readings, Oli rejecting 10% of units, Gaspar himself saying there were a number of faulty units in a batch. Just what do you think we are over-blowing?

Exactly. How is this overblown when people like Oli have to go to the trouble of basically certifying them before selling them?
Wish I'd gotten mine my set from him.

David

Olinco

I would like a case and plumb bob also. I have the scales. If you could bring one for me to Ky I am there on Tuesday evening.
Thanks

Ragz 07-05-2015 08:43 PM

Yes, we are bringing all our stock at JOK.
We are due to receive a new batch by the end of this week as well.
However, since we reject quite a few units during alignment/ calibration, I never know what my stock status is going to be.
