Oil for Skymaster MB-339 struts
 

I was just wondering if you guys could tell me where or what oil is used in the struts of the Skymaster MB-339 to adjust the height of how the plane sits on the ground and also to help with dampening the landings. Any help would be greatly appreciated because where I am at I don't have any other jet guys to bounce stuff off of. Here is a link of what I am talking about.

Jason, it's a light hydraulic oil. Mobil DTE light or Citroen LHM are suitable. The oil doesn't control the ride height, the air pressure does 80-90psi is a starting point.

I would think LHM ought to be the easiest, available from most car accessory outlets.

Next question is what type of tank or fitting is used to add the air to the struts. The videos look like a regular air tank but it must have a press release so it holds air pressure until pushed in. Also, where would someone get the fitting that screws into the strut to add the oil? Thanks.

The tool for introducing the air is supplied with every MB339 kit.

To introduce the oil the valve is removed and the SM instructions followed. There isa video on the SM site.
