Oh I remember when BV was working on his own F-18 (2001 maybe??). E/F did not exist back then! 1/6 scale with true scale landing gear...........those days are gone forever.

Why doesn't FT find a field with less x-wind. I bet WAY more people would fly.

Global Jet Club will be carrying them.
Pretty cool though I had the misfortune of leaving my truck open at the end of the day and they had to run it up one more time with my truck 10 feet behind the exhuast. Took most of the way to the hotel to get the smell out of my truck. |

With prevailing north/south winds, having a runway oriented in that direction would mean that half the day pilots are looking into the sun. Worse than any crosswind in my opinion. Being at the event and able to fly from 8:30-5:30 without the sun ever being a factor was pretty awesome.
And then if the pilot stations faced east, photogs could get awesome "golden hour" pics. And because gear wouldn't be getting ripped out, pilots could fly again and again! Hey FT has been doing this for years, so: A: Who am I to question B: He knows what he's doing with his event and the pilots he gets!;) |

Any additional information on those 'ACE' turbines for sale?
Bill, Lowell Wexler is the contact on them. Mike lin of GJC was also showing them and flew the foamie F-16 that is available RTF with the 60 size. They are offering the 120 size and a 220 also will be out soon. They took pre-orders at the show. Jeff |
Ahh, the art of the crosswind landig! A godly made filter to keep unwanted pilots grounded, and on with the show! LOL
|
The crosswind was strong but when you picked the right times it was manageable. The hard part was it was blowing from our backs and the tents would disturb the wind. Also their was a spot that had no tents right infront of the runway where the vendors where and the wind was whipping through that spot. So you could be lined up perfect on the center line then hit that one spot and get pushed over to the grass with the aircraft rolled halfway.
BTW for those that say the runway should be moved the winds in Florida in this area for the most part come out of the east or west. You cant just build a new runway because people cant land in crosswinds. |

Guys, Can any one help me with details about the F16 Quique Sumenzini was flying. Which Kit was that ?

awanx,
It's a highly modified BVM PNP that was built just for him. It's a one of a kind one off deal.. |
