Rebinding

Guys, I'm asking, if your receiver battery runs low;
does the receiver looses the bind to the radio?
Maybe the receiver is bad or the radio, and should
be sent for checkup?
Talking about my Spektrum but could be anyother.
I charged the 123 and could rebind again.

I have not experienced the loss of binding, but I have seen a "brown out" when batteries get low.

But the binding was not "lost". I.e., I did not have to rebind to regain control.

That was DSM2 however.

Should not have to rebind because battery went low. With a fresh battery, it should link up.

Been flying spektrum since I started,, I currently have 21 models programmed into my DX-18. I have never LOST my bind,, something is not right buddy..

If you have recently updated your TX you will need to rebind. However if this has not been done, as stated above you do not need rebind if your battery went low,bad, disconnected etc etc. I also fly Spectrum/ JR ( old system as some mite call it)

Any time I have dealt with binding issues its been problems with the satalite receivers or the little wires going to them. The little wires are pretty delicate and break easy. They will give you intermentant problems.

Had one plane I was helping a friend with and it would what we thought was loosing bind. Well turned out to be the little satalite receiver wire. Every time the bind plug was inserted it would move the wire enough to work. Then after he would put everything back together it would not make contact anymore.

The way the system works is if you don't have enough antennas then it won't bind. Once bound it can loose an antenna and still work. But next time you turn power on it won't connect.

My receiver is AR12000, so is DXM2.

Same here...next time you lose the bind look at each satellite and see if the power light is on all of them. The one that is out is your problem.

I would send it in for the DSMX upgrade. Much better and reliable.

impulse09 04-14-2016 11:14 AM

Better yet, upgrade to something other than Spektrum.

JR, Jeti, Futaba, etc.

Jeti,Jr to expensive for some of us. Futaba was just behind the times when I flew with it unless you had the 3 grand mz.

Was looking at the bio sheet for top gun this year and it's not an official count but looked like more dx18s then anything else. I'm perfectly happy with my dx18.

I'd be willing to bet that there are more Spektrum radios out there than the above three put together......

Why don't you troll on over to some other forum to try and start a radio war?????

E.N.T. 04-15-2016 05:22 AM

I don't need to change to any other brand. I'm perfectly happy
with my radio as is lightweight, handable, and easy to program.
I don't have to look to the bible the others come with.
So, let's not start a war on radios again.
I think I'll send it with the recievers for check.

Thanks to all;

I have had a few times lately where I had to rebind the plane-I cant detect any commonality other than it had been a couple of months between flights.

impulse09 04-15-2016 11:12 AM

What other systems require random "rebinding"?

6 months + between flights never had to rebind unless I updated. Fly Spectrum/ JR

I have an Aurora 9 with a similar issue which I have been unable to sort out. I use Optima receivers.
