JR8911HV issue
 

I am trying to figure out what is going on with my 8911 servo. When move the throw down/up full or at any point of motion while holding that position, I can put a little pressure on the stab and it with moves up or down almost like something is stripped inside the servo. Please see video to see what I am trying to explain. Could any of you please help me identify this issue

I had this problem with a new 8911HV and had to send it in for repair.

I was thinking that. I am not sure how old this one is seeing that I got it second hand from a user on here. I wonder if JR would repair it. Not sure if its still under warranty. I wounder how much it would cost for the repair. They have not seen any flight time since I have had them.

Horizon fixed it for free.

Really Nice. I am not sure were he got them from. If I call Horizon I wonder if they would fix mine if I didn't buy them form there.

My impression is that they'll fix the servo regardless of who you bought it from. HH has great service with JR servos.

okay cool. Thank you Greg! I will call them and see what they can do for me. I did run into another issue. I was getting ready to take the servo out and some how I stripped two of the servo screws. I hate these type of screws. they strip way to easy. Now have to figure out how I am going to get it out haha.

The Servo's gears could be stripped. But, so could the spline in the servo arm itself. Also, if you are stripping servo mounting screws in wood mounts, you can harden the servo screw hole in the wood with thin ca.Thread the screw in, take the screw out, add a drop of two of thin CA, let the CA harden, reinstall the screws. If the hole is already stripped, do the same with medium CA or shove in a tiny piece of wood and then glue it in. Re-drill the hole and go from there.

lol so I wanted to report back about the servo and I can say that the servo is good. it was the stupid servo arm that was strippend on the inside just enough to allow it to move. I order new servo arms different brand and should be in this weekend. how something so small can drive you crazy and cause you to loose a plane

So now i would use Aluminum Servo arms.

It was aluminum servo arm lol it was the Aluminum Sx Arm. it took me trying to get the servo arm off to see that it was moving inside the arm.

Wow that must have been a pretty hard jolt to the servo to strip out an Aluminum arm.

Are those what came on the servos when you bought them?

Sometimes the servo arm's screws work loose or are not tightened initially and then the arm is moving around and it eventually strips the servo spline connection. Or, .. it was not the right arm in the first place. I have seen one without the arm.s screws installed. I was kind of wobbly, but had not yet failed like what we saw in the video.

well I got the Jr servor arms for it. I think what happened was that on this servo arm there are two scews on the side and think the work them sleves out just enough to strip the inside.

ill take a video soon of the servo arm and show what I believed happened.
