Paint Question
I'm finishing up the Fei Bao F-15. The scheme is a 30th anniversary Japanese scheme.with no clear coat. Once all decals are on I'm going to clear it. My Question is, being its an anniversary scheme, should it be gloss or matte finish? Or does it matter? Thanks Scott.

A picture of the airplane, which squadron, which base would help. But it appears of the 8 or so 30th anniversary JASDF paint schemes on Eagles they were done semi gloss or matt. Proabably water colors for quick removal after the event. So the main gray paint is def. Flat.

see here's the thing.. your decals(if water slide) need to be applied to a Gloss surface or they will not adhere very well and even worse they will show air underneath (called silvering)
So clear coat/apply decals/ then either gloss or matt coat to finish. |

Thanks. I understand but my question is being that it's an aniversary scheme, were they done in a gloss or matte finish.

All the Google images that come up look like Matte finish.
