Large Fitting on UAT
Help - another rookie question. I have a UAT with a large fitting (6mm) leading to the pump. I am installing a Jet Central Bee. The supplied shutoff valve fittings are only 4mm. Not sure how to fit the 4mm tubing to the 6mm UAT fitting. Are there UAT's with a smaller pump fitting (4mm) that would certainly solve this problem. Thanks everyone. Chic

get your hands on a 6 to 4 reducer , dream works has them in brass and also in a festo

Chic,
felker 14 provided an answer in the above post. Note you can also obtain the Festo Reducers 6mm-4mm, P/N FES SM6-4 or the Mini Air Trap , P/N MAP-MUAT, directly from DreamWorks along with their Hanson Super Trap. I would simply go with the Festo 6mm-4mm Connector. What is the size or the manual fuel shutoff valve for your Super Bee? Festo make both 4mm and 6 mm Ball valves which are also available from DreamWorks. |
I made my last step down for my p200 using brass tubing.

Henke,
A manual fuel shut off is a requirement in the AMA Turbine Regulations here in the USA. I know that adding fittings downstream of the pump is not advised. However, have you ever experienced a runaway fuel pump when the pump pours fuel into the model and tailpipe? A downstream shut off does nothing to stop the flow. However, a manual shutoff on the suction side will starve the fuel pump and help contain the fire. I have personally experienced a fuel pump runaway and it will be long remembered. Lucky for the quick shutoff and halon extinguisher, the resulting model damage was minimal-only a "technicolor" tail pipe. Rgds, Art ARRO |

Many thanks guys, pretty good reasoning. Decided to go with the 4mm to 6mm manual fuel shutoff valve as suggested by Felker14 from DreamWorks. This way, I do not have to change out the 6mm outlet UAT. ArtARRO, the Bee came with a 4mm manual valve but the UAT has a 6mm outlet. With the shutoff valve from DreamWorks, removing the 6mm shutoff valve and installing the new valve is all I will have to do. Run the line from the UAT (6mm) to one side of the valve and run the 4mm line out the other side to the filter. Thanks everyone. Chic

redtail,
Sounds like a plan. You're most welcome. Rgds, Art ARRO |
