CG reference

Hey guys...putting the finishing touches on my T1. Regarding measurement of the CG are you measuring from the leading edge of the seam between wing and fuse, or slightly more forward where the wing actually begins (marked 1 and 2)? TIA!!

Hi guys,
I replaced the fuel hoses in my T-1 (Soft 60A Viton 4.8 mm / 3/16 "McMASTER-CARR). Everything is ready for this season. I'm just waiting for better weather. :o ***winter***

Nice landing. ***winter***

Howdy,

Does anyone know of a company or individual making stab (vertical and horizontal) covers for the T1? I have the nice T1 wing bag that Pacific RC sells for the T1 which does hold the stabs but I have no intentions of taking mine off after flying every day. I'd love to find some that are made for this beautiful jet.

Thanks in advance,
Scott

Amazing. Thank you so much!

Dansy 04-26-2021 08:52 AM

Yes I have a set from Revoc as well....some of the best.

AEROSHELDON 04-26-2021 09:42 AM

You can leave them on all the time as you wish as well. You usually have to buy the set if wing and tail but I bet a quick email to them or a US Dealer can get what you need!

Man, I was going to order the fuse bag but it looked like there were no horizontal stab holes so I didn't. I did get the wing & tail set. I didn't think about checking to see if there was a US dealer.

These bags are not cheap but look like great quality.

Thanks again for recommending these and to Dansy as well

Revoc is the best protection for your rc models. ***winter***

Not sure on that one, but on my Ultra Flash fuse bag there are slots. Plus, you can have them do anything for you they are good about "custom" stuff. Yeah I use a dealer and he is great.

The thing with Revoc is you just have to asked…..and they will do pretty anything you want…...I have the bag for the Fuselage T-1 no fin ;) I always removed the fin and stand so I can stuff more into my trailer :)

Winter, awesome. The smile on your face says it all. I'm about to maiden mine as well. I've been flying a friend's T1 and it was balanced at 260mm (essentially, the center of the wing tube). Coming from a F3A background, it seems still nose heavy in the inverted 45 degree upline (how I check all models) to me. We are moving his back to 270mm (essentially the back of the tube) and we'll give that a try. I'm going to start mine at 260 though. What are your thoughts on your CG? Seems like many are very happy at 250mm but that seems very nose heavy to me for this plane. FYI, mine came out at 30 lbs. on the dot ready to fly sans fuel but full UAT.

Best,
Scott

I'm at 255 mm. Normally, even on the back, it flies perfectly horizontally. On landing also okay. Weight 30 lb /13,5kg.
I'm still smiling. :) ***winter***

you can go back but you need to be very careful when slow not to tip stall.

im at like 245 with the prototype still and she flies great at that.

If you pull to a 45 degree upline and roll inverted, are you tucking towards the nose i.e. you have to hold a decent amount of down elevator to hold the 45? Certainly, I understand holding a little but, on my friend's, it seems excessive.

There is a USA dealer, but he doesn't stock anything to speak of, just orders them from the factory https://NirlyBuilt.com Owner is Nir Schwizer. He and the factory guys are great to work with and Nir also does custom builds for people and does great work.

Man, my lack of computer skills is showing, I cannot get an active link to the website posted here. Just go to the site by copy/paste or do a search for "Nirly Built"

Here's a new set they just made for me. About ten days from order to delivery. USA shipping wasn't bad at all, about $60.00.
